This was my second visit. The first time I had an amazing calzone that was huge. Tried the chicken Parmesan sandwich today. Dried out chicken tenders, more bread than anything. Huge disappointment. Waitress was nice, decor super generic. Wasn't feeling well when I got home, sick all night. We got there early before dinner, my guess is we got expired food or something they should have thrown out.

Exceptional foo though I think the crust is a tad salty. Restaurant in need of an overhaul but the food is exceptional and the servers are very good.

Wonderful little place for excellent New England style pizza which is hard to find. Only two places in Venice I will eat pizza and this is one of them. People are friendly and always busy inside and takeout. Great job guys! DONT CHANGE A THING!

First visit, actually sitting down in the restaurant, was a great experience, the decor is nothing to write home about but the Meat Lovers pizza was one of the best we have ever eaten in Venice, lots of cheese, tomato sauce and plenty of fresh tasting meat toppings. Second time, again sit down visit, we noticed a definite change in quality, less sauce, hardly any cheese and the meat toppings were very, very salty. In addition to the pizza, we ordered a Spinach Calzone which was nice size but nothing but FROZEN Spinach, hardly any cheese at all. Last visit (literally) we thought we'd give the place another try in case they were just having an off night. We didn't get there until 8:22 p.m. and were told that they weren't seating past 8:15 p.m.??, so we went ahead and ordered a carry out pizza, same one as usual, the Meat Lovers. When we got home and opened the pizza box, it was strangely devoid of cheese and sauce, but had lots of meat, mostly sliced ham and pieces of bacon, but the kicker was the weird sliced 'sausage'. This meat was obviously processed (who serves sausage sliced like lunch meat on a pizza?), and had an 'off' flavor that caused us to remove it entirely from the pizza. Not sure what's happened, I suspect it was late and whoever threw the pizza was in a hurry to get home. But overall, the quality has changed and not for the better. Last time we'll eat here.

On our first visit to Mama Maria's, we tried the veggie lover's pizza (minus the garlic and black olives, as is our preference). It was excellent! The thin crust was crisp on the bottom, and there were LOTS of fresh veggies strewn over it. Some places use canned mushrooms, but not this place. The sauce had a nice taste and there was a nice amount of cheese -- not too much. We will be back again for pizza, and to try the pasta dishes.
