Reviewed March 14, 2014

Very friendly atmosphere. Owner was working in food preparation & her father greeted us at the door & took our names - only about a 20 minute wait on a Friday night. "Lobsta" roll impressive with large pieces of lobster, whole bellied clams & clam "chowda" just like what you get at the cape. Way to go Gigi! Your hard work & dedication pays off. Cant wait to come back!! Thx

“Very, very good”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

Hard to find places in Florida that serve fried clams with the bellies but this is one. The batter is light, simple and not greasy. It could use a little seasoning, however. The clam chowder has a smooth and silky consistency, good flavor but my order could have used a few more clams and potatoes (I got the bottom of the pot, maybe?) Also had the haddock sandwich (grilled) and it was outstanding with a large portion of fish, great seasoning and a buttery soft bun. Companions had the haddock dinner and a Philly chicken sandwich and enjoyed them. Accompanying fries and onion rings were equally satisfying. One of the better New England restaurants in Florida. Dining room is modest but comfortable. Parking spaces are sparse, however, and represent a problem. Location is also a little hard to find, in a small strip off the main drag. Overall, a very, very good dining experience.

“Lobster rolls to die for!!”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Hidden at the back of an older strip mall on Hwy 41, Venice, Florida is a wonderful small restaurant that features authentic Boston Lobster rolls that are absolutely delicious. They are filled with fresh lobster meat and come either cold, my favorite, or with drawn butter. Add a side of freshly made cole slaw and crispy sweet potato fries and this is heaven. My Mom has lived in Venice for almost 40 years and we've always had lunch at A Bit of Boston since it opened. Mom is 95, in poor health but this is what she wanted me to bring her for lunch when I visited her recently. I did and she ate every bite of it. This isn't a fancy place. It looks like a sea side place, but you can't go wrong.!! Enjoy

“Really Good Clams!”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Stopped by for lunch. Décor- beachy-sporty, very casual. We had the chowder- it was A+. I had the clam platter. Whole belly clams, cooked perfectly, with fresh French fires and really good slaw. My partner had the Haddock.
It was also delicious. Onion rings were superb. Service was the best I have had in a long while; attentive, yet not overbearing. A return to this restaurant is a must.

A little hole in the wall with great New England seafood! A lot of food for a very reasonable price. You will not be disappointed, especially if you know your New England seafood!
