We had a wonderful time sitting under the palms and scooping for shark teeth and shells. Great public walk ways and restrooms. Dark shelly sand. Snorkelers and rocks. Great for a different experience free parking.

We spent 3 days looking for sharks teeth and had the best success at this beach. I think we found about fifty small ones. Take a strainer with ya and that will help out a lot otherwise they are hard to find without it. Expect a crowd, everyone knows this is the place to go for sharks teeth so be ready. The is one area of the beach that is rocky but go left and you will be in wide open space again. Happy hunting

Venice FL is known as the shark's tooth capitol of the world and Caspersen Beach is the place to find the most of them. Most of the other beaches in the area have had the sand wash away and then be replenished with sand from another beach. Caspersen is still the original beach with fossil teeth.

The teeth are several million years old and keep washing up on the beach. Look along the edge of the water as the waves wash over the beach. As soon as you find the first tooth, you are hooked. Great way to spend the day.

The beach is also great for swimming and fishing. A short walk away from the beach is a kiddie playground and bike trail. You can spend all day here. We do often.

A gem if you want to avoid large crowds, enjoy free and ample parking and a variety of activities. These include surf and lake fishing, canoe/kayak launch, children's playground and covered picnic areas. Several secluded beaches are sometimes available.
