“Great "comfort" food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

We really enjoy this restaurant. Went tonight and had the "fish & chips" special - $9.95. It was excellent, as usual. Friendly, professional service. Dinner (with a couple of beers) was $33. All in all, a very good dinner experience!

“Venice Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

We have been meaning to visit the British Open Pub for some time. Did not get there until just recently. We should have gone there much sooner. A very pleasant surprise! Great food, service and atmosphere. Will be back soon!!

“Cute Theme Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

The British Open Pub has all the same comfort food you would hope to enjoy on a trip to the British Isles. Bangers and Mashed, Pot pies and the like are all available, all the time. The inside is cozy and warm with lots of dark wood, and old books lying around (they're dummy books, from a decorator's) but the theme is there. All around the ceiling of the dining room runs a model train with a couple of Foster's cans made to look like a tank car. It's a nice little feature, but tiresome after it's passed your table for the 500th time.
Although I like all the English fare, something came over me and I had a big American Angus burger, with American cheese, and a Belgian draft beer. But next time I'm going for the bangers and mashed.

“Tasty and reasonably priced”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

We have eaten here twice during our month long stay in Venice, and the fact that we returned says it all. Located in a shopping plaza near Venice's movie theater, it lacks the curb appeal of the trendier downtown eateries, but the food is appealing, the service is excellent, and the prices are quite reasonable. Happy hour offers two for one wines or $1 off a pint of draft beer. Many menu items have a British flair - bangers and mash, fish and chips, cottage pie - for about $10.99. The atmosphere is comfortable, golf decor and pub style. This is the kind of place to go when you just want a nice meal, that doesn't break the bank.

“Pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Friendly atmosphere...great food...they even had music. Will definitely go back...We had crispers-(homemade chips) and corned beef but we were sitting at the bar and everyone showed their meals to us and raved about them!! Not to mention the bill was reasonable ...what a nice surprise.
