Loved this beach! The sand is like flour and the beach is clean. The parking garage nearby was a godsend as it saves you from hunting around for a parking spot. The cost was $8 for the day. The beach was busiest near the entrance to the beach because most people don't want to drag their stuff too far but if you walk down a little ways the crowds thin out drastically. A great beach to walk on too.

This is a fine beach but right now, October through about mid February, truckloads of sand are being hauled in every day except Sunday. We are staying in a timeshare resort right on the beach and I timed the trucks. They go past our building every 4 or 5 minutes, with a small vehicle leading the truck. Then the empty truck returns and another full one makes its trek across the beach. This goes on all day. Some people have set up their beach chairs very close to the water to avoid the trucks, but it is a very noisy situation and I wonder if some of that sand blows off the trucks and onto the beach tourists. I think most visitors here are staying close to their resorts' pools. We can certainly hear all the noise from our balcony.

If you are planning to stay in this area in the few months, you may want to reconsider. They are supposed to finish this project some time in February. You might want to call the local government office to get more information.

If you can visit Vanderbilt Beach, do it you won't be sorry. They have covered parking in walking distance to the the beach. The sand is soft and the shelling is great. I love to spend the day and enjoy the beautiful water.

Even though this beach is more narrow than other Florida beaches, it is a good visit. A little crowded on the Labor Day weekend. Lots of good shelling, clear water, white soft sand. Near the Ritz, nice covered parking, good clean public bathrooms.

If you have a chance to go there---check this beach out! It's great. Convenient parking just a block away. Great, powder-soft white sand. Good crowd (both locals, and tourists). Great, clean water. Great, safe location.

What more can you want in a beach? It's one of the very best that we've been to.
