Because we had a 7 day stay the reception staff had put us in the tower block with a great view of the beach and coastline. Room was bright and clean, maintained throughout our stay by the friendly staff. Any maintenance problems such as safe lock-out were dealt with immediately. The receptionist Ricky was particularly helpful in finding a local dentist who was required ASAP. Sloppy Joes restaurant and bar were always buzzing and although our room overlooked this area, we were never bothered by noise. Breakfast at Bazzies Bar was very good and the staff very bright and cheery, the only negative here was an order from the menu of a tender beef sandwich proved to be uneatable. Staff changeover was likely to be the cause of this. Ideal position to the centre of the resort. Would recommend breakfast and evening meals at Ricky T's.

Room Tip: Ask for 647 in the tower block

The Bilmar exceeded my expectations. The room was immaculate; from the granite countertops, the comfort of the beds, and the full kitchen. The bathroom was nice also it had a separate vanity area from the toilet and shower. The cleaning is important to me and they did a great job. The food at Bazzie's Beach Bar wasn't bad it was rather good. We stayed in the gulf front efficiency room 118 with a walk out to the beach with a little porch it was wonderful.
Our location was perfect! The view was gorgeous. My only complaint is that the ocean is a bit far away from the hotel. Although the hotel is on the beach, it's a few minute walk to get out to the ocean but not bad There is a sidewalk that runs a good half mile maybe more down the beach for runners and walker. There are cabana's and umbrellas for rent on the beach. You can also print your boarding pass for free in the lobby. The staff was the best! Publix, & Walgreens are across the street and John's Pass Boardwalk is just down the road about a mile. Also about 20 minutes straight down central at the other end is St Petersburg with the Pier and lots of cafe's and shopping. I would definitely come back to the Bilmar sometime in the future!!!

My husband I visited the Bilmar this past week-end for our anniversary and it was more than we could have asked for. The location and the views from the gulf front efficiency is absolutely amazing. As stated in the other review, Publix, Walgreens, and restaurants are all with in walking distance. We parked the car on Friday and did not move until we checked out. We ate breakfast at Bazzie's beachfront both mornings and it was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. My only complaint would be that we stayed in room 218 and the grout needed to have a good deep cleaning. Other than that the whole room was very clean. We have definitely found our new beach spot for the summer!!!

My husband and I took our 2 daughter (ages 13 and 8) to this hotel. It was wonderful! Comfy beds, nice rooms, nice pools, friendly staff, restaurants on-site, walking distance to plenty of places. We enjoyed the beach, found many great shells, starfish and sand dollars, as well as spotted dolphins one evening right from the beach. Really liked Sloppy Joes restaurant on-site, Original Pizza across the street, as well as Bubba Gumps at John's Pass. Publix grocery store a block away was great when we were tired of eating out. We also went to Busch Gardens (about an hour away) and on our sunburn recovery day, went to the Holocaust Museum in St Petersburg. Only drawback was the drive back to Bilmar from Busch Gardens, rush hour was not rushing thus making th trip back 1.5 hrs. Beach was not crowded at all, cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed this place! Will be returning again.

Upon first entering, the view was gorgeous and the beach resort décor was breathtaking. We chose to stay in their larger two-room Penthouse suite that had a separate bedroom and living area. The rooms were well appointed, very clean, very comfortable and really spacious. The two bathrooms were truly spa like, one with a great walk-in shower and another with a Jacuzzi tub. The living room connected to the bedroom and was quite large. Each included a flat-screen LCD TV, which made my husband feel right at home watching the NBA Playoffs on both at the same time! There was also a full-size kitchen (we used the refrigerator and the microwave), dining area and a queen size Murphy bed for additional guests, which we didn’t have.
Service was very friendly and enthusiastic and management was willing to go out of their way. We wanted to watch some movies but a DVD player was not in the room. We declined, but they were willing to pull their DVD player from their conference room for our use. Maid service was really great. The resort was implementing “Project Green” whereby they would change linens or towels every 3 days and if you wanted linens changed beforehand and/or clean towels, all you had to do was leave the card on your pillow and/or put the dirty towels on the floor. A very good way to conserve!
The exterior pool and the beach were always pristine and there was a beachside fitness trail we walked in the morning. The Bilmar seemed to be a host to quite a few weddings, anniversaries and other functions such as “Battle of the Drums” on the beach, but any noise did not affect us. What we least liked was that during these functions or when you came in later in the evening, you could not get a parking space out front of the Bilmar, you would have to park in an overspill lot across the road next to Walgreens.
We were always on the go and we enjoyed that the hotel was well-located with a lot to do within the vicinity. Anything you could need is within walking distance; Publix, Walgreens, and St John's Boardwalk. You could drive 20 minutes in either direction for endless options. St Pete, Madeira, and Redington Beaches are minutes away as well. We dined out almost every night but when we found ourselves too tired to move there were two restaurants within the hotel resort- Sloppy Joes and Bazzie's their beachside cafe/restaurant.
Overall it was a great vacation. What we liked best was the elegance of the PH and the service and care we experienced. The locality of the resort was great for us with lots to do but if you're looking to have a quiet relaxing beach holiday, it can be truly blissful, hanging out by the pool, under a cabana on the beach or just enjoying the luxury of your room.
Try it you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: Request Gulf Front with a view of the water.
