“Right on the beach, well equipped”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

This may be a long review but I try to give some points on lots of things. First let's start with the location. This property is right on the beach. Walk out the elevators and across a small walkway, and you are on the beach. One thing I liked is you are given your own parking space for your unit and they are numbered. However, you only get one space per unit so if you have more then one vehicle, you have to park the other vehicle somewhere else on the property. The room was well equipped, but wasn't as big as other suites we have stayed in at other locations. We had a 2 bedroom suite on the south side of the building. We were in Unit 413S. This is closer to the front of the building (toward the ocean) so the view was great. It wasn't oceanfront, but a great view for sure. There is everything you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the room was very clean and updated. TV's in all the rooms. The walk to the pool was one thing we were worried about because we have a son with cerebral palsy. The walk was very short. Out of the elevator to the right was the large pool and a hot tub and to the left was the kiddie pool and another hot tub. The walk to either was very short. There is a bar outside by the pool, however, we didn't go to it while we were there. There is alot in this area from restaurants to pharmacys, and a grocery store just down the street. John's Pass is just over the bridge. You could probably walk it, but we drove. We had no issues while we were there. The only complaint I would have is that the water in the pool could be a little cooler. It will be awhile before I make the 16 hour drive from Ohio back to Treasure Island, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. This place makes for a great vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the front (toward the ocean). It just makes for a shorter walk to the pool...

We had an enjoyable visit at Sunset Vistas, The view is amazing, the beach was wonderful, the pools great, staff excellent, our room was clean! however I have one complaint.. I am puzzled as to why every room has a doorbell... unfortunately after getting my boys off to sleep, around midnight the doorbell started ringing. We opened to no one. This occurred 3 more times... ( we were next to a stairwell and could not catch them.) Having doorbells only lends itself to prankers "ding dong ditching". Security was there within minutes, but just curious as to why the doorbell is needed. Otherwise, this was a fantastic choice for our vacation.

We held our family reunion at the Sunset Vistas last week and it was the perfect spot. We were a party of 13 adults and 14 kids under the age of 13 :). We occupied several units (all were clean and nicely equipped). The actual bedrooms were a little small, but they were more than adequate. Each unit has an assigned parking space (a big plus). The pool was large enough to accommodate our crowd plus all of the other resort guests. The kids were allowed to "be kids" in the pool (which doesn't happen at several places on the beach) and they even have a community box of toys for the kids to use at the beach or in the pool. There is also a nice splash pool for the little ones. The hotel is conveniently located near activities at Johns Pass and a local Publix - and the Shake Shop is virtually in the same parking lot. However, the BEST part about the facility was the staff!! Everyone was so pleasant!! We ate several meals at the cafe (food was great) and staff was eager to please. And we spent a great deal of time at the beachside tiki bar, and just like the cafe, the drinks were great and the bartenders were awesome. We highly recommend Sunset Vistas for a relaxing, or fun-filled beach vacation...whether you are a family of 4 or a reunion of 40...we know we'll be back!

Room Tip: Every unit has a balcony with an ocean view. Some are actual beachfront.

This Place has a great location right at the Beach. The staff is very helpful and nice, and the pool area is great for both adults and kids. The rooms are nice, beds could be bigger but is al right. We really like it here, but unfortunately there is a lot of drunk adults in and around the pool at the late afternoon. They drink and smoke in the pool, poring beer into the pool. All this while kids are swiming around. I think the staff should really pay attention to this, because it shadows an otherwise Perfect stay. Take care of this, otherwise i think Your reputation will not apeal to families in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms in the building to the South was very quiet. The rooms on top of the buildings have great view...

Stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Pools pretty good, kiddie one my son really loved. Beach was awesome! Huge in comparison to others we've stayed on. Lots of jellly fish in the water so we stayed pool side. Condo was ocean front and nice overall. Clean towels on the 2nd gull day of stay, little worn on the inside but overall nice place. Each condo had own parking spot which is nice for not having to search for your car. Bar served alcoholic drinks, little expensive but nice that it's on the property. We would stay here again. Hopefully more family with us next time.

7 days at Sunset Vistas for 4th of July Weekend. Accomodations were great ocean front 2 bedroom condo, very clean with balcony and all the amenities. Spacious kitchen and 2 bathrooms one with walk in shower were definite pluses. Bedrooms are small but very comfortable. Parking is a problem if you have more than one vehicle. Spaces are reserved by room number but only one per room and guests spaces are minimal.Beach is great but there is pipeline construction adjacent to the property, no noise but ti does spoil the sunset view in evenings.

We would have given this lovely suites hotel a rating of 4, but on our second and last night we were kept awake all night by construction work on the beach in front of the hotel. We paid over £200 ($300) a night for the double room suite, so losing a whole night's sleep due to the reversing warning bleeps on various diggers is not acceptable as there was no warning, The hotel reception staff apologised and said they were not aware the work was due to start on 6th July, but it would be continuing up the beach all summer . No refund or compensation was offered. Such a shame as the suites are good, well equipped, there's a lovely beach, although umbrella and chair hire is extra. The pools are good but busy during the 4th of July celebration weekend. The construction work will last for a few weeks in front of this hotel, so check it has gone before even considering booking and if you are due to stay in the next few weeks - change to another hotel.

We are sorry that the beach renourishment affected your visit to Treasure Island Beach.
Great news, the work was completed this week. We are fortunate that the State of Florida and our county invest heavily in maintaining our beautiful beaches. This project was never directly behind Sunset Vistas, only lasted a few days and unfortunately we have no control over their schedule. We do however regret any inconvenience and hope for a return visit to enjoy the results!
We are pleased that, with that exception, it was a great experience.
