VIP is a local "dive" favorite for excellent Mexican food. Bustling busy atmosphere, in a spot where you would never guess is so popular. The staff are always attentive and efficient. The Seared Tuna Tacos paired with a Golden Margarita is all you need. If you can still walk... Then, stroll across the street for a spectacular Treasure Island sunset. You will be back---sooner than later---to VIP.

This place is a real gem.
We like to eat at the bar whenever we can when we travel - good way to meet people & find out intell on the local scene. The bartenders at the VIP are fun and they sure do not short pour - hai carumba!

First time there we went for lunch & I had the wet burrito, the small serving, not sure how anyone could eat the large, I had to go back to the room at the Bilmar for a lie down aftrewards - too full & I did not even finish it. It was awesome !
Wife had the chimichanga - again, a large serving of great food that could not be finished and very tasty.

Next time we managed to get in we shared the Mexican pizza & margaritas for lunch - the pizza was awesome and large, we took it back to the room at the Bilmar to save in our fridge - made for an excellent cheap breakfast next day.
BTW - VIP Margaritas - not a toy, but delicious, best if you are walking .... 8^)

While not a complaint, my one beef with the VIP is that it is difficult to get a table / seat. Testimony to a great establishment obviously, but frustrating nevertheless - it would be nice to see them try to expand seating capacity.

Great food - go early !!

The VIP Lounge and Restaurant servers some really great Mexican food. And if our hotel hadn't told us about it, we would have never found it. We never made it inside as we were seated on the patio. While you do have to wait a bit for a table, they offer drinks and a nice covered seating area to wait. Once seated, the service was smoking fast. And their famous Wet Burrito is really awesome. Prices are extremely reasonable. Parking is a bit of a mess as well, but good things often require a bit of work before you get to the reward. You will be glad you put in the effort if you give this place a try..

It's a small, cozy, casual bar/restaurant that has some slamming food! We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. The staff has always been attentive and friendly. They always offer specials on drinks and food. Love the wet burrito! Try it, you'll like it!
