“Nice condominium, but beware of unit 306, building 1”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2011

I have stayed in this condominium many times before. Resort Rentals provides a good service, and many units are very nice. This time we stayed at Unit 306-Building 1. It was a major disappointment. Although the reviews were excellent, and the pictures showed a nice place, it is actually a dark, dirty and cheap unit. It had the feel of a cheap motel, for the price of a 5 star one!
Some things were fixed by resort rentals (those under their control) others were not- we were told the owners refused to fix them.
What was wrong with this place? pretty much everything! from the old dated decor to the state of dirtiness. YUCK!!!
The carpet ( a dark colored carpet) was discolored and dirty, the windows were dirty with with spills, everything needed a good dusting, tables, walls and doors had all sorts of scuff marks, there were burned light bulbs, the upholstery in the dining room chairs was fraying, the black ruffle in the bed was stained and spilled of who knows what, the bed was lopsided, the pillows were the cheapest kind, the numerous faux plant fixtures were dirty and discolored (not to mention terribly ugly!). The pots and pans were stained and sticky greasy. All this added to a very dated, cheap and ugly decor, with dark carpet, dark walls, dark furniture. The TVs were the old kind, there is no wireless, and contrary to what was advertised, the bed was a full size, not a queen, the silverware was the cheapest kind, the dishes were a mix matched sampler of all sorts of kinds, the place mats were the rubber mesh type, etc...I could go on an d on, but I guess this is enough! . To top it all off, it faces a parking lot, which has its share of noise, and has no view, because there are palms blocking the view in all windows and balconies. Palms are nice, but in an ugly apartment, not being able to take solace in the beauty of the outdoors, seemed like punishment. In essence, a rip off! Good thing the beach is wonderful!

Room Tip: Call Resort Rentals, ask for advise about the state of the unit.

We stayed in building 9, first floor (which is actually on the second floor as the ground floor is the parking lot), with a ocean view. I think the condition of the condo is partly dependent on the owner, and how much upkeep they have the management company do. Ours was great, very clean, very functional, 2 bedroom 2 full bathrooms.
The pool was wonderful, very warm, lots of chairs, very clean. The kids loved it, and it was right next to building 9. It is then just a very short walk over the walk-way to the beach, and the beach is wonderful. Very clear warm water, great sand and lots of sea shells. Again, the kids loved it. We saw dolphins about 50-100 yards off shore every day.
If you have kids, and want to relax in the sun, this is a very easy spot to go, since they are very safe to play at the pool and the beach while you relax and watch them run around.

One small note - if you need to have internet access, check when reserving to make sure your unit has wireless internet. Again, this is really dependent on whether or not the condo owner has put it in. Ours didn't have it, but we didn't really care.

Rooms are horribly out of date and furniture is very tired and word which really makes the experience unenjoyable. Although children are allowed the place is very anti-children. Resort Rentals was not sympathic .

We rented a condo thru resort rentals, and found the company to be very nice. It was a breeze booking the condo and checking in, etc. This was the first time we had booked a condo, so we were nervous about what the place would actually be like. We saw pictures online, but you have to see it in person!

The condo was very nice. It has everything you need. The only downside was renting the linens. We drove from Michigan to Florida (a 24 hour drive), with four people in the vehicle so packing extra things like sheets was out of the question. But that wasn't a big deal. The condo was wonderful. We were in the last building (#6) oceanfront and bay side. It was great. The view was wonderful. They keep the grounds groomed very nicely. There is a lot of wildlife on the property as well. The pool areas were nice also. And it is in a gated community.

The surrounding cities are beautiful. You can go wrong when you are in Florida. But the major downside of the trip was RED TIDE. Google it! It causes fish to die, and they are washed up on to the shore. It can cause the air to smell, and it can cause people to have respiratory problems. It occurs in months that begin with the letter 'J' mostly. But don't let it discourage you from going there.

Just back from 2 weeks vacation. Condo 401 Building 6
Had been freshly painted, clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of Gulf of Mexico and a clean, relatively quiet beach.
Plenty of fabulous restaurants nearby but car is essential. Particularly recommend Snappers on St Petes Beach, Middle Ground Steakhouse in Treasure Island (wines are half-price on Wednesdays) and Guppys in Indian Rocks Beach.
From my personal experience, avoid The Pub at Indian Rocks
This is our 4th time holidaying at Lands End

Stayed at Building 9 apt 304. Booked through Resort Rentals. Condo was dirty, stained carpets, worn paint, dirty eating utensils. Complained---did no good. Stay away from this unit.

We stayed at Lands End Building 7 Unit 401 from May 6-13. The condo was a large end unit right on the beach with a beautiful view. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the dolphins and listening to to the surf. The pool area is very large and clean. Underground parking was a plus although the spaces are hard to navigate with a large car. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk around the property every day.
On the down side, the condo was in serious need of updating. Furniture and decor is right out of the 80's. Internet was wired only. Unit was basically clean but there were roach traps and we did see roaches daily. The trash shute outside also had roaches.
Overall would recommend this complex, very safe and secure and great location.
