Beach Side Palms
Reviewed June 4, 2014

My husband and I along with our three little boys stayed at the Beach Side Palms for four nights in May. Based on all of the great reviews I was hopeful that we would be pleased with our experience there. We were not disappointed. This quaint little retreat is so different from the many large hotels located just up the street. Our room (Fishtail Palm) was adorable, extremely clean and fully stocked with everything we needed to feel at home and enjoy our time at the beach! There was a lovely little sandy trail that lead to a huge expanse of white sand and the Gulf of Mexico. My boys were in love!! They had never seen the ocean and had so much fun playing in the waves and collecting shells! They were also pleased to find many toys provided by Beach Side Palms including toys for playing in the sand, and plastic baseball bat (they loved playing baseball on the beach) and boogie boards!! Brian and Katie were very attentive and kind. We were expecting they would be nice but figured it would be the sort of "fake-nice" you get from most staff at hotels. We were pleasantly surprised to find they were very genuine and sincere. They deserve every great review they have received!! Our last night there we surprised our boys and told them we were going to Disney World the next morning. One would think they would be jumping up and down and screaming with excitement, right? They were actually more sad to be leaving Beach Side Palms!!! Even now after experiencing Disney World they talk more about the great time we had at Beach Side Palms!! We absolutely plan to go back and make more great memories with our boys!!

Room Tip: Website says Fishtail Palm sleeps 4-5. It really only comfortably sleeps 4. We were provided with a...

Our first stay of 2014 and the fourth room we've stayed in - Coconut Palm. It was a great place to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. Once we parked the car Tuesday when we arrived-it never moved until we left on Friday. Cooked on the courtyard grill the first night and picked up dinner at Publix (which is a 5 minute walk away) for the other nights. This place is just AWESOME! Already have reservations for August. Hope to get back at least a third time as well. HIGHLY recommended if you want a relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: Room selection based on number of guests and personal preference. All the rooms are wonderfully appo...

The owners of this business really care about your experience here. Its clean, well appointed and RELAXING. Your at the beach..great rear courtyard to grille, sip a cold drink or relax in the shade. Can`t find a fault here. Its a feeling of how Florida was in the 1960`s only done better. Beach was always clean and never crowded. Great for Dolphin watching. First time I`ve ever been compelled to review any hotel. Had plenty of travel experiences...this place just plain delivers a good time at a great price.

I've been coming to beachside palms for a number of years. It's a beautiful older hotel that has been renovated into what feels like a very private resort. There is a lovely patio area, to include BBQ grills, tables and chairs. Each room is decorated nicely, and everything you need is there. There's even a cooler. It's very clean and welcoming. The owners are truly great people who do thier best to ensure all of thier guests are taken care of. I have two trips planned this year, and can't wait to get there! I can't say enough about what a great place it is to stay. Maybe I'll see you there sometime :)

Room Tip: The Coconut Palm is my favorite. It faces the Gulf. :)

I called and booked this place without having read any reviews or seeing any interior pics...scary, right? Not here. I called at 5pm the night I wanted a room and got it for 3 nights (would have liked more). This very small, on the beach inn was just perfect for us (my daughter and I). We stayed in the "traveler palm room". The place was clean and cute. It was furnished with everything we needed, it has a small kitchen with eating area in the room as well. The bed and bedding was comfortable and it also had a pull out love seat for an extra person if we needed. They have a laundry room on site for a small fee. The property is well maintained and has beach chairs we took out by the ocean, it has a volley ball net, a few outdoor grills and a hammock in the patio area. It is in a good location for getting to John's Pass, Clearwater Beach, Fort Desoto and many of the regular places we like to enjoy. We visited over Valentine's Day and our hosts left us a mini bottle of Champaign and chocolates (sweet!) Our room price was great ($99 per night excluding tax). We did not have an ocean view (I think they have only a few rooms that do), but hey, we were right on the beach, to view it, all we had to do was walk out the door a few feet and there we are. We would stay here again in a heart beat. thanks to our hosts!

What do you look for in a vacation rental? For my retired husband and me, it has to be on the beach (he loves to go metal detecting on the beach). It must be immaculately clean. It must not be terribly expensive; must have a high value for the price. Although we mostly eat out, we must be able to prepare simple meals. It has to have high speed Internet. It must be small enough for there to be a feeling of personal friendliness but we like our privacy and it can't feel intrusive. It must be well-situated for easy access to a wide variety of good quality dining. It just be well-situated to offer easy access to a wide variety of live theater and concerts. It must offer great views of the sunset since we aren't early risers and rarely see the sunrises. For us, Beach Side Palms, has been our winter vacation destination for several years. We just can't imagine a vacation destination that better meets our requirements.

Room Tip: If Coconut Palm is available, you simply can't find a better accommodation on the Gulf of Mexico...

For the last 9 years we have been able to spend some time here and while away the days away from cold weather. Always a wonderful clean fishtail palm room, with a stroll to the white sand a few feet away. We have gotten to know Brian and Katie, they are the best at looking after their guest every need. With good health we plan on spending many more holidays at our favorite place in Treasure Island.
Thank you both
