“Nice little seafood spot with a great sunset”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Leave the Grand Strand and head out to Tierra Verde for a nice casual dinner with good seafood and service. If you are there around sunset stick around for the view.......tremendous. Priced reasonably and a nice variety. Well worth the drive and a break from the crowd.

“Oysters and a sunset”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

I love oysters on the half shell and Tuesday it's Island Grille for 50 cent oysters (raw or cooked)! Actually, they have that same deal every week day during happy hour but happy hour never ends on Tuesdays - it's all day long.

“Nice menu, good specials, fantastic view”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

We took a short drive over to the Island Grille in search of more raw oysters while vacationing in Pass-a-Grille. We were surprised how busy this place was in the middle of the week at the end of the busy season (late May). The restaurant is located on the second story of an unassuming building, but that means the seating outside on their deck has a fantastic view of the legendary sunsets. We were there on a rare stormy evening, and retreated to the inside, and yet, we still were treated to a view of a bright orange sunset.
The food was good - oysters were a nice size, and shucked well. We also shared the conch fritters which came with a marmalade sauce that wasn't actually as tasty as the slightly spicy mayo sauce used to decorate the plate.
The night we were there, they had a $25 special - 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 dessert. Definitely worked for us. We also had the cedar plank salmon and I tried the Mediterranean mahi. the fish were cooked very well, but I wouldn't order the edamame salad again. I thought it would be more asian, but it wasn't. Wait staff was excellent and the owners were there, chatting up customers and making sure things were going well. It was a lively crowd on the bar side, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back (when the weather's clear!).

“Nice!”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

Went here for the first time last year and came back 3 times this year, for us an outside table a must, difference between staying and not, trouble is no reservations are taken for these tables.

Island shrimp out of this world, fish and oysters excellent although quite small compared to other places such as Snappers, I like the rice and black bean side.

Steak also good and a sunset view great.
Staff a little laid back but that is also an attraction.
Very informal, so not a place to go for a special evening as such.
