Owner description: As a part of the FKWBC, the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary is home to over one hundred non-releasable, permanent bird residents as well as wild birds including hawks, owls, vultures, pelicans, terns, gulls, herons, spoonbills, and many more. Visitors are invited to learn about our birds and the fragile ecosystems of the Florida Keys. The Sanctuary is open to the public from sun-rise to sun-set. Admission is free, but donations to help the FKWBC to continue to fulfill our mission are gladly accepted. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native and migratory wild birds that have been harmed or displaced, to provide or locate a humane shelter for those birds that cannot be released, and to educate the public toward the importance of coexistence with all wild bird species. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center is a 501(C)(3) Charitable Organization.

This is a good place to spend an hour or so. They have several "pens" for the birds to rehab. You walk along a raised wooden walk way that winds through the woods and passes by the various bird pens. Somewhat ricketty and needs some upkeep. I think it would be greatly improved if visitors were a little bit more generous with donations. The park is free but they have a donation box. I saw several visitors leave without making a donation. $5 a person would be a changer.

I imagined this would be a wild bird park, but it is not. This is a great project that rescues injured birds and re habilitates. It's free of charge but please do leave a donation for the great work they do.

One afternoon, while staying in Key Largo, we visited the Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center. I believe these folks are doing great work and there were many different types of birds being rehabilitated here. There was information provided on the birds. There is no charge; however, they desperately need donations to keep doing their work. Help them out some if you visit.

I appreciate what they are doing here and enjoyed my little tour. No cost but a donation. Great to see some of these birds up close and personal
