“Busy but average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Reservations are a must on a Friday night and although we got seated quickly it took forever to get service. The wait staff seemed way overtaxed but pleasant and helpful in spite of the mismatch in work load and staffing. Food was adequate but not nothing stood out. My fish was unadorned but fairly bland. Seems like a popular spot but I'm not sure why based on this experience

“VERY Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

After my first visit to Hurricane's, I was looking forward to returning with friends. We went for my birthday. Made reservations. The waitress was good enough, but food seemed to take too long. We ordered appetizers while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. Portions of appetizers was small for price. I ordered the same thing I ordered on the previous visit because I had really liked them, the Pulled pork sliders. When my food came the buns were hard, dry & everything on my plate was cold. The drinks were weak. There were 8 in our party & 6 had never been there before & from this visit prob. won't return. Very Disappointed that they are not consistent with the quality of food & drinks.

“Some good, some bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

Visited on a Friday for lunch. Tried the Monterey chicken quesadilla, conch fritters, beer battered clams and Key lime pie. The quesadilla was very good. The conch fritters looked wonderful, but were too heavy on the onion and were doughy inside, as if cooked in too hot of oil not allowing the inside to cook thoroughly before the outside browned. Definitely would not recommend. The clams were sweet, crunchy and chewy and had a good flavor. The pie was the best part of the meal - not too tart with a nice creamy texture. Overall, I thought the food taken as a whole did not merit a second visit, especially at the price; over $40 for a quesadilla, two appetizers and a piece of pie.

“Nice Seafood place with great atmosphere and service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This was a very nice choice for seafood in the area, which is surprisingly limited for Florida. We passed on the valet parking and still had no troubles finding a spot. The setting is very tropical; hip yet laid back and sets the mood for the food which is not your run of the mill seafood! Very unique and both my husband and I thought delicious. From appetizer to dessert the whole meal was great brought out quickly with pleasant staff.

“Good and not so good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

Four of us gave today's experience a good and not so good. One had a very good hamburger, another had a very good fish taco. I and the 4th person were very disappointed in the fish sandwich. The fish breading was greasy, probably due to the oil not being hot enough. The menu said it would be on a bun, instead it was on oily toast. Both sandwiches were ordered without cheese, one came with cheese - looked and tasted like a very generic American cheese. The seafood bisque used to be outstanding, just barely good now, different recipe. On the upside, seating was quick, service was good, waitress was attentive but a little short on personality.
