Return trip to the Turtle proved to be uneventful. We waited about ten minutes to be seated even though there were many open tables. We finally were seated on the deck, and our waiter appeared shortly to get our drink orders. We ordered a hamburger and a grouper sandwich. Then the real wait began. The deck tables were mostly occupied, but there were plenty of servers about, yet we waited about forty-five minutes for our
food. The grouper was quite small even though the price was $16. My hamburger was ok, but was not cooked as I had ordered. The best thing about our meals were the fries and slaw. The total price for our dinner was $35 which included two beers. The outside deck is a great place to relax, enjoy the view, have a drink, and eat some fries. I don't know if I'll be going back for the food.

Stopped in here with some friends on a Saturday night. The restaurant looked to be understaffed. We waited for about 20-30 minutes to get a table. No sweat is we had a drink at the bar.

We were seated on the deck and we're excited to try the food. Unfortunately a server never arrived. We walked out after 20 minutes. No water no hello no nothing. Doesn't get much worse than that.

we had lunch on the porch overlooking the lake. nice surroundings and view. we enjoyed watching the alligators in the water, and the birds. it was a great day to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. great service from dimitri. however the iced tea was bland, and i was disappointed in my meager lunch. i ordered the "Pineapple Boat: Half of a fresh pineapple filled with 3 scoops of tuna, chicken, or egg salad Mix & match to make your favorite combination."
my description would be 2 tablespoons of each, not 1 scoop of each.....i was hungry within the hour.at $12.95, this was no bargain!

This a hidden gem of a restaurant....for lunch or dinner the food is very good. If weather permits and you can sit outside, the view of Lake Tarpon is lovely. The inside is so pretty, the staff is attentive without being pushy. One of our favorites.

We were first time diners here last evening. We waited at the hostess station for a hostess for a while, didn't see any employees, inside bar didn't even have a bar tender. When we were finally helped we wanted to sit outdoors. The patio looked like someone had not cleaned it up since last fall, everything was sort of dirty and sticky. There was a lot of bird poo on the green umbrellas over the tables. We did sit right by the water as there was really no one out there but us for about a 1/2 hour (including the server, didn't see for 1/2 hr). We ordered the fish spread appetizer which was ok but it came with a restaurant style warm it up "loaf" of bread which had a funny taste and took away from the fish spread. Just a few nice crackers would have made a big difference. When we finally got our entrees we had been there over an hour. My husband ordered the 4 beef kabobs with a bed of rice. The kabob beef was bland and dried out. The rice was obviously from a "Dollar Store box of fried rice". The rice was yellow in large pieces and the peas and carrots were like from a can. No flavor, looked like someone had tried to push down the rice in a single layer over the dish so it looked like a larger portion. Bad. Sad, always hate to be disappointed by a new restaurant. My entrée was supposed to be grouper with Oscar hollandaise. There was no hollandaise sauce, there was butter mixed with an egg yolk. It was shiny, thin, and had no flavor. There was crab in it, the pieces were too small to taste. The sauce took away from the fish. The grouper was supposed to be grilled, it came looking like it had been lightly breaded and cooked in a cool pan? The tasted was OK. It was a pretty thin piece so I'm hoping it actually was grouper. The roasted potatoes were overdone. They were tough on the outside and mushy on the inside. Had been basted in something sweet?? The best part of this restaurant was the view of Lake Tarpon at sunset and the alligators and turtles the came up in the water to look at us. I got the feeling that it was a slow night and there was no management there that cared about the quality of the food or the service. With good management oversight this could have been a good meal. We commented afterward that we were so glad that we had a coupon to get $50 worth of food for $25. We would have been very upset if we had spent $50 for that meal. When we were getting toward the end of our meal, an employee came by and I asked them to wipe up the water from condensation on our water glasses. He looked at the table and cleaned the whole thing saying that he was sorry it had not been cleaned before we ate. The rubbery or plastic "tablecloth" was really sticky. Anyway, if we go back for the view we will only order something like a burger and take our chances that it is edible. Hope that owner gets problems straightened out soon so more customers don't have this experience.
