“Typically greek.....”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

they serve typical greek food with good quality, but be aware, they bring you more than you can ever eat. nice waiters and beautifully located at the waterfront. One of the two restaurants you should not miss in historic Tarpon Dock Sponges....

“Great Food, Nice Location”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

All sorts of excellent Greek food and American on the menu. Nice location right on the waterfront at the Sponge Docks. Friendly, helpful wait staff. An all around pleasant experience with great food.

“Dining with dolphins”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

From the moment we walked into Dimitri's we were welcomed openly although it was late and only one other party was dining. The food came promptly , it was typically Greek and delicious. Halfway through our evening a dolphin joined us and made a meal of some of the fish the staff had been feeding bread to. What a unique treat ! It is family run place and the owners son took excellent care and made several nice recommendations. The flambé cheese starter is a must . The marinated grilled lamb main dish prepared medium rare was also a winner. Fresh homemade baklava and a nice crisp and fruity Greek white rounded out a very pleasant experience. We will return...OPA!

“Authentic Greek Food”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

A beautiful setting on the water watching the sponge boats going and coming. Had fried Calamari- large serving of very lightly fried calamari. Greek salad with large amount of feta cheese. Grilled octopus was delicious and tender. Service was prompt, & courteous. They even had retsina wine - a traditional Greek wine that is not always available at other Greek restaurants.

“Such a shame”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

Having been to Dimitris twice before we decided that we had to return there on our holiday even though it was nearly a 300 mile round trip. What a disappointment. Our server was rude and surly and because of this we didn't tip her as generously as we would normally. She confirmed our thoughts when she voiced her anger at such a small tip. The food was not good either. We won't be returning ever and left tarpon springs vowing never to return. It's a shame because they were so good before. Some staff training seems to be needed and a chat with the chef regarding dry lamb served on a plate with brown water. No garnish, nothing. It looked awful and tasted as it looked. George the owner or manager ( not sure which) was apologetic and gave us a desert. However, it's no longer a place we wish to visit.
