I spent ten days at the Spring Bayou Inn. It is centrally located to all the restaurants you could eat at for six months. It is within walking distance of most any activity concerning historical Tarpon Springs. I highly recommend the Inn for one person, a couple or a family. Bill and Sherry are a vivacious couple who are going that extra mile to make you feel at home. Bill's culinary expertise is quite evident in the wonderful breakfast fare he and Sherry offer their guests each morning. It is really difficult to choose which room to stay in, as each room is beautifully and impeccably appointed with fabulous antiques. I felt quite cozy and comfortable and appreciated the attention to detail, not only in the decor, but in Bill and Sherry's commitment to providing their guests with all the best of amenities. It was always nice to come back to find a table full of happy faces discussing the activities of the day. I very much look forward to returning in March to visit again.

We stayed in the Hibiscus Room for our honeymoon and were delighted with the location, the room, and most of all with the treatment by our hosts.

The inn is magnificent and we enjoyed the sitting room, the porches, and the dining room. The breakfast was very good with a menu that was wonderful.

The best thing was that we were able to take our dog (well behaved of course) and the Hibiscus Room allowed us to get him outside through a private door. We even took our 16’ boat to explore the waterways of Tarpon Springs and were able to keep it at the Inn.

Thanks for a great time – we will be back!

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Spring Bayou Inn in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The Innkeepers are Bill and Sherri Barzydlo.
In a desperate race to exit a most unpleasant hotel experience we stumbled upon the Inn tucked away in the historic district of Tarpon Springs. We were greeted by Bill and Sherri who immediately began to arrange for us to occupy the Hibiscus Room. The Hibiscus Room is located in the rear of the Inn just off the kitchen. It comes with its own private entrance and a beautiful antique brass bed with all the amenities of home. Bill just happens to be a Le Cordon Bleu chef and we can assure you that waking up to the smells of a gourmet breakfast each morning was nothing less than a slice of heaven.
On occasion we would find ourselves hovered around the cook island in the kitchen with several of the Inn's guests discussing a multitude of topics. We were made to feel as tho we were one big happy family and it reminded us of the hours spent in our own home nestled around the table with warm spiced tea or a refreshing glass of wine and good conversation. Bill and Sherri were truly the highlight of our stay, always willing to accommodate our wishes. This was true of all the guests during our visit. Our hat is tipped to you both and may you continue to grace the Tarpon Springs Historic District with your lovely Spring Bayou Inn.

Spring Bayou Inn was our haven-away-from-home this past Thanksgiving weekend while visiting Florida for some SCUBA diving in the Gulf and the nearby springs. Both inn-keepers are certified divers, and while we didn't get to drag them out to sea with us, they helped to make our trip more enjoyble by ensuring that we received a special (and hearty) Diver's Brunch (neatly packed to-go for the boat trip) and providing a location for gear rinsing & drying so that all of our equipment was ready to be stowed by the time we were ready to come home.

We chose the Rose Room on the second floor, but I think you'll be pleased with any of their room offerings. The parlor and wide porch are both inviting for time with friends or reading and the Inn is on a quiet block, but only a short stroll away from the waterfront district, the cathedral and several shops.

Turns out that these inn-keepers have more to offer than clean linens ... professionally-trained chef, artifact-hunters and adventure-seeking, we found the instant camaraderie with these two and their guests around the kitchen table.

While in the area, we also enjoyed:
*SNOOKERS - great outdoor covered patio & live music; good food and generous portions. Bonus: a raw bar/smoked seafood menu is very reasonably priced and perfect for enjoying on their larger patio + their bar is a lot of fun with it's nautical design, fishtank, memorabilia & you can catch up on your sports with their big-screens
*HELLAS - in the waterfront district, with a large street-side covered outdoor patio - delicious food and a mouth-watering bakery (ask for Soula! )
*GETAGURU - artful shop with fantastic handmade soaps (olive-oil based) - perfect for gifting with some of the local sponges - on the waterfront, you can't miss its bold pink exterior
*NARCOSIS SCUBA

My wife and I just returned from a three day stay at the beautiful Spring Bayou Inn in Tarpon Springs, celebrating our wedding aniversary, and what a pleasant suprise it turned out to be. My wife and I have many years of hospitality experience behind us and love to visit out of the way small inns, and tend to be hard to impress because of our having worked in the hopitality industry. We have learned to read between the lines concerning what "breakfast" means and the distinct difference between quaint and historical. Our visit to Spring Bayou Inn exceeded all our excpectations, hosts Bill and Sherri anttend to thier guests needs with a true understanding and affection for people. They made us feel truely at home. Being a Chef for the last thiry odd years, upon our arrival, had to check out what was cooking. I found Bill in the kitchen planning the next days breakfast and we had a delightful conversation about food,I knew imediately we were in good hands. He did not dissapoint! The food was delicious, creative and presented with tremendous appeal. Also thier suggestions for other dining establishments were right on the mark. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room, the late night conversations around the kitchen table with the other guests. It was a wonderful aniverary weekend, and we intend to return as often as we can, tell as many friends as possible and savory our visit for a long time to come. Thanks again to Bill and Sheri for a memorable time.

I had the excellent fortune of working in the Tarpon Springs area recently...and found an absolute gem in the Spring Bayou Inn!

The Innkeepers Sherri and Bill are wonderful; the Inn itself takes you back to a time when everything moved slower. They are excellent hosts and work very hard to make your stay enjoyable!

The breakfasts were splendid in that they were very fresh, full of flavor and everyday was something new. Breakfast was a very relaxed and effortless occasion. Bill is an outstanding cook!

I will be staying with Sherri and Bill again and have recommended them and the Spring Bayou Inn to several co-workers, friends, and family.

Our holiday at the Spring Bayou Inn took place last February/March - 2005 and we would like to comment about our wonderful experience.

After touring the entire coastline of Florida - staying at many Bed and Breakfast Inns, we finished our holiday by spending a week at the Spring Bayou Inn at Tarpon Springs. What a great choice we made! Making reservations via the internet can be somewhat daunting however our entire trip turned out wonderfully. HOWEVER the best was saved for the last!

Sherri and Bill's lovely old Victorian Inn was so very special. The Inn is spacious and elegant and filled with lovely antiques. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and the breakfasts - wow - such a treat. Our hosts were just the best - so hospitable and friendly - and such fun! We enjoyed every minute of our week long stay - and hope to visit Spring Bayou Inn again - very soon!
