“Great place to relax”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

One of our favorite places to enjoy the day or a week. Good facilities, fishing areas, boating area and a great beach area just to sit and enjoy the water. We like to take our chairs and sit IN the water with them while we watch the sun set. small waves, can walk around all sides and enjoy a different view; can actually wade around the around. LOVE THIS PLACE

“great place to take photos”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2013

I enjoyed walking along the beach and taking photos. The park was quite relaxing and is a great place to have a picnic. The park also offers great sunsets and sunrises. I would go to this park again.

“Nice Beach on a winter's day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2013

The Fred Howard Beach w/causeway is a clean facility with ample parking and a variety of recreational opportunities. You can park for free off the causeway or for $5.00 at the beach. There is a boat launch and a kayak trail. Close to town - access is easy. Sunset beach is nearby for watching the sun go down. If you bring a group, picnic shelters with grills, tables and privacy are available.

“Wonderful setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

If you don't like the crowds of more popular beaches like Clearwater Beach, you will love Fred Howard Park.

There are picnic facilities, trails, a kayak trail and playgrounds. The beach is one of the best in Pinellas County with an open view of the Gulf of Mexico and Anclote Key. There are plenty of places to fish. The sugar sand is soft and white. It's a great day trip for beach goers. Parking at the beach costs $5 per day.

“Wide open spaces”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Visited weekday afternoon and there's just so much space whether you walk along the shoreline, get some shade under a palm or wander through the woods. This would be brilliant for a day out with the cool box, loads to eat and drink for anyone to enjoy, no doubt the sunsets will be well worth seeing.
