“Okay Hampton, been to better”

Stayed for 4 nights on business. Chose the hotel because I needed to be on Rocky Point and I am a loyal Hilton Honors member. The hotel was okay. Very clean but in need of a major rooms refresh (dark carpets, peeling wallpaper, non-matching furniture, old decor). Showers were old and nobs were difficult to work. All in all an average Hampton and would return after a rooms renovation was completed.

I am happy to announce that we are currently under renovation and have started in the public areas and will be moving into the rooms. This is a full renovations so we will be a brand new hotel once complete. Thank you for your feed back.

I enjoyed my stay at this Hampton Inn. The room was comfortable and clean. More importantly the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The first night I had an issue with the air conditioning on my room and they addressed right away. Feedback: when I booked this hotel at hilton honors.com the site only offered me a smoking room. I booked it in hopes of being able to get a non smoking room on site. When I arrived at the hotel I was glad to learn there are no longer any smoking rooms. Consider making this update on the website because it almost caused me to book another property. I will definitely return to this hotel when in the area.

This hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's a great place to stay near the airport, and Bahama Breeze was practically right next door. Most of all, the manager gave us a GREAT deal on parking while we went on a cruise. All of the front desk employees thanked us for being Hilton Honors members, which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed March 3, 2014 prior to departing from Tampa Int'l airport. Limited parking - seemed to be small, cramped parking spots. Check in was smooth; lobby is recently renovated. Room was very outdated; wallpaper peeling in bathroom; pool was cold, so we didn't swim; there was no hot tub, which we didn't realize. Got into bed - bed was hard - not the typical mattress we are used to, and we stay exclusively at Hilton properties, nearly always at Hampton Inns - this was not the soft sleep we are used to at all! There was no local TV listing guide, and the remote didn't work properly. Wasn't worth the trouble to call the front desk with these issues, for the 1/2 hr or so of TV we wanted to watch before going to sleep, but it was an inconvenience. Breakfast was OK - we were there early, so it wasn't busy, which was good, because it's a fairly small area for breakfast. Overall, our worst Hampton Inn experience in over 20 years. Would find another place to stay if we find ourselves in Tampa again.

We booked the fly/sleep/cruise package directly through the hotel’s website. Hotel staff was very responsive in getting a shuttle to pick us up at baggage claim – a short drive to the hotel. Check in was efficient, and the hotel room well appointed, especially if traveling with many electronic devices (two different charging points in room, each with two usb and two outlets). We saw no evidence of ongoing renovations and were pleased with all we saw. There is a full-service restaurant within easy walking distance of the property.

David at the front desk provided superior customer service – no request was too onerous or odd. He arranged for the hotel shuttle to take us to a local mall for a reasonable fee, and to pick us back up when we were done; made sure we knew everything we needed to to catch the shuttle to port, and what to do upon return. He’s the friendliest and most helpful front desk clerk we’ve encountered in a long, long, time.

The only hiccup we experienced was upon arrival back at the pier: we couldn’t get the hotel to pick up, but found the shuttle company already there and ready to go. Now we know to call the shuttle company directly – an easy fix. We often sail out of Tampa, and Hampton Inn RP will now be our ‘go-to’ hotel.

Reading previous reviews it makes you wonder if this is the same hotel my wife and i just stayed in?
We had booked three nights at this hotel and after one night we moved out.
The general condition of the hotel is poor, the reception lady said that they were refurbishing the hotel and the rooms, we saw no sign of this being done only dirt in every corner and a whole list of issues that resulted in us only staying one night and not three.
The hotel was however quite happy to quote 200 dollars per night.
After discussing our problems with the hampton inn customer relations people we moved to the Embassy suites hotel a few miles away. We received a full credit for this one night however which considering we only got one hours sleep in the room it was the right thing to do not to charge us.
I will not go into the full details of our problems In this report because there are so many ! Non working toilets and showers plus pillows that smelt somewhere between cheap room perfume and dog poo were top of the list followed by common facilities like guest laundry,ice machine etc not in service! Lousy breakfast with hardly anything available!
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, sorry, as we have stayed at so many nice hampton inns , this one does not get even close to acceptable at any price!

The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. It is in a great location and has good views of the Bay. It is very quiet. The only issue I had was with the shower controls, otherwise a good place to stay near the Tampa airport.
