The hotel was nice, nothing so special about it but William loves life and helping others and it shows! We were close to the elevators - it was a little loud. The pool was heated and I did dip in - you have to go look at the view from the 9th floor pool.

Perfectly nice hotel in a very handy position. The shuttle from/to the airport works well, and there are enough food and beverage places within easy walking distance to keep you safe from the hotel's predatory pricing on breakfasts and in-room refreshments. During the week you can find an excellent sandwich shop within the office complex itself.

One good thing about the office building set-up is (free) parking in the multi-story park accessed from the rear or the side of the building.

Staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful, though sometimes you wish the reception staff would relax their perky faux-friendliness.

But it's a rather odd hotel, the central part of an office complex. Most rooms look into the building's atrium, giving you a view of office workers, and giving them a view of you. Other rooms at the end of the corridors look onto a major road through poorly insulate floor-to-ceiling windows. Couple this with the rather flimsy room doors and you can get a noisy environment from outside your window and from cleaners and guests outside your door.

The rooms are clean, well presented and comfortable. My bathroom had a tub with shower over. Typically for the US, there was no hand shower and no bidet.

I took friends to the in-hotel franchised restaurant (Shulas). It seems popular, but it's pretty much run of the mill as steak houses go. But comfortingly expensive!

Room Tip: A higher floor probaly cuts down on outside noise.

My friend and I just came back from a professional conference and stayed at the InterContinental. We are incredibly picky travelers and LOVED the Intercontinental. We had read re the elevator noise etc so requested a high floor room not near elevators. We got the 11th floor, and no where near the elevators. Beds, sheets, pillows are wonderful, and just what we needed after a stressful day. Staff could not have been more courteous or helpful. The overall updated ambiance is a huge plus over some of their dated neighbors.

You will get a charge on your mini fridge, but it is taken off without question.

Spent two nights at this hotel and enjoyed every minute. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff was courteous and prompt with service. Will stay again.

Room Tip: Not sure there is much difference

This is a nice hotel; and the staff is courteous, although not overly friendly. Nice room, comfy bed and pillows. One bad thing -- maids begin banging and clanging around in the hallway before 7 AM. Be sure to put out the "do not disturb" sign if you don't want them knocking on your door! As mentioned by other reviewers, the mini fridge prices are ridiculous. Be sure you don't remove something just to read the label -- you're charged the minute something is picked up. The toiletries are average to cheap. While the hotel was okay, I'm glad I didn't pay full price (had a discount). This appears to be an average business hotel trying to be a luxury hotel.

Room Tip: The room we were in seemed noisy, but I can't speak for any others.

My stay at this hotel overall was fine, the hotel is nice, and in a great location in Tampa. However, as mentioned in previous reviews, the mini-fridge was a bone of contention. First, I was charged $50 at checkout for alledeged mini-fridge pruchases. (I did not touch anything in the fridge or the bottled water in the room.) The front desk was very understanding and credited my account.

Three days later, a mysterious $12 showed up on my credit card from the Intercontinental. I called immediately and again, they tried to charge me for supposedly opening the bottled water in the room. I did not have to push to hard for the accounting dept. to credit my account for the $12. What is most irritating about this hotel is had I not been vigilent, the hotel would have upcharged me $62.

I will not recommend this hotel to my friends.

we stayed at the intercontinental for one night before a cruise out of tampa. the hotel is very nicely appointed with ultra modern decor. the staff was very friendly and helpful, from the bus driver to the front desk clerk. the location is very convenient if you don't have a car...you can walk across the street to the mall or walgreens, or walk to the next corner and you'll find a starbucks and panera. we ate dinner at shula's steakhouse on premises. it was very good; i highly recommend it. all in all, a very positive experience.
