A little pricey but they will negotiate. If you are flying in late or leaving early in the AM you can't beat the convenience of checking in or out of your hotel within a short walk of your airline check in.
- Free Wifi
- Free Parking
I like liked the easy access to the airport. We stayed the last night of our vacation before we flew back home to Kansas. It was nice just to get up in the morning and walk to your baggage check in area. We returned our rental car the night before. No hassle to eat as there was several good restaurants to eat at. The rooms were quiet even though there was a noisy party going on in the suite down the hall and the normal airport noises. The only negative thing is that they charge for Wi-Fi in your room.
We stayed here on Saturday May 22, 2011 as we had problems at a previously booked hotel. The bellmen helped us as soon as we arrived which was great because my wife was/is pregnant and we had a lot of luggage. The location is the main reason to stay here but the people working at the hotel were very nice as well. In the morning the front desk person rolled our luggage on the hotel's luggage cart right to our the check-in counter for our flight. We will stay here again, no doubt.
Quiet even with being at airport
Food- alot of fast food and restaurant type places to eat
Hotel restaurant- seemed expensive but we had the buffet breakfast included with our cruise package. Not sure if I would have bought the breakfast.
Rooms- very nice decor and bed very comfotable, trendy decor and no complaints
Well we were really surprised by this hotel. First time in Tampa Bay and the reason we were there was to catch a cruise across the Atlantic on Holland American Line. We loved the port and what we saw of the area. We cruise a lot. So we bought into their (HAL) pre-cruise hotel package. Expecting to get to the hotel, after spending hours and hours in the air (we are Alaskans), and then expecting to sit on the bus at length awaiting other fellow cruise guests before we departed for the hotel, we were amazed. The HAL folks took us to the elevators and up we went to our rooms. Very elegant room indeed. And very quiet, even though you could see the jets taking off just a few football field lengths away from your window. Slept like a log.
In addition, we ate dinner at the revolving restaurant on top of the hotel. Very good and reasonable. Quite an experience, even for someone, retired and coming from the airline and transportation industry as I have, and in addition, the both of us cruising the world for now over 21 years. I give the hotel an A plus and Tampa Bay and A plus for building world class 21st century airport and facilities. Good job folks.
I would only ask, they, the hotel, consider free internet access, breakfasts, coffee (not the crap you make in your own room) and perhaps a free newspaper. We were on the pre-cruise package so not certain how much the room cost us. My wife said the rate on the door said $500.00. So, hey, very good, but not that good. Stay down the street next time and get the above free services but maybe not the convenience, class and ego-status kick, for a fraction of the cost.
We chose this hotel due to our late night flight coming in (after midnight). I've had pretty good experience wi Marriott's and this one was no exception. After we collected our luggage from baggage claim, we walked right to the hotel and checked in. I had booked the government rate, as I'm a state employee...teachers are eligible for government rates by showing school id. Room overlooked runway...and we heard very little runway noise. Slept very well! While room wasn't large, it was what we needed for the night. Staff was very pleasant. The next morning, we walked out of hotel and had breakfast at the TGI Friday's that's in the main airport area. Price was much more reasonable than the hotel breakfast...that would be my one negative, price of hotel food. But then, that's typical of MOST hotel food. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again after a late flight or prior to an early flight.
