Thanks to the RNC the Forum has had unbelievable exposure.Even if you're not political this is the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, numerous concerts. I saw Neil Diamond there recently-and not too long ago Sarah Brightman. Wonderful seating and acoustics and lighting. Big clean bathrooms and plenty of vendors however prepare to wait in long lines to get served which is typical of these types of venues. Pay for covered parking with elevators take you to ground floor to walk next door to enter. This is especially good for handicapped or if you're just not up to climbing stairs.
Plenty of paid and free parking along side streets. Take coins for meters. Just might find some fee side street to park. Just make sure you remember where you parked and I'd recommend parking on well lighted streets-lesser chance of break ins. Also make sure when you park you're not sandwiched in where you have to wait for others to leave before you get out. Good restaurant across street. Traffic flow is intense in and out of events. Better to walk a few blocks east to Channelside to eat-handful of good restaurants or eat in Ybor and take the trolly but allow a half hour or more to get to the Forum from Ybor. Most downtown restaurants are closed at night except for pizza and hard to get there, park and then go to the forum. Always go to Hyde Park, or along Howard and Armenia-lots of great niche eateries! Safe environment. Afterwards walk along Bayshore Blvd(the sidewalk runs for miles along Tampa Bay and their most prestigious homes.for a breathtaking view of downtown Tampa day or night..
