This park has something for everyone. An extensive boardwalk allows you to enjoy the enjoy the beautiful birds and wildlife of Tampa. Bike, roller, hiking, jogging, leisurely walking paths as well as canoeing, and picnic pavilions. A great place to take a deep breath and rest your soul.

A very nice and pleasant place for a walk. Very close to the city yet a complete change, this park is well kept. Plenty of living creatures to see and listen to. The water level changes with the seasons and reveals different parts and animals.
Nice place to be alone, with friends or family.

A very large natural park along side the Hillsborough River where one can observe many of Florida's natural inhabitants, birds, alligators, snakes etc. along the river and among the natural swamp areas. Plenty of open grassy areas to enjoy a picnic and plenty of parking.

While the tower was shutdown for some reason, this park was nice to take the dog for a walk and to experience the scenic swamp like park. Unfortunately the dog could not go on the boardwalk but we took turns walking a little bit of the boards and would definitely go back again.

My running club meets at this beautiful park. There is a paved 1.2 mile loop which is canopied by beautiful trees. It is so shaded, it stays pretty cool, even in the summer. The wildlife is nice, lots of turtles and bunnies. There are fitness stations along the track to supplement the work-out. There is a $2 fee to use the park (or get an annual pass). Bring bug spray, it is very "natural Florida".
