The view was lovely, the food was good, although my club sandwich could have used some fresh bacon (the stuff in the sandwich was cold and hard) and some warm bread (that was toasted and cold). The fries were delish! The grouper sandwich was wonderful, and my toddler grandson's fruit had been cut into really small pieces - VERY MUCH appreciated! They only had one waiter for the entire place, and the poor boy was doing his best to make everybody happy. Because of that, lunch took a long time to arrive at our table, but all in all, a good experience. We'll definitely go back.

We walked in a bit underdress. But, since it was a Monday and not so busy my son's t-shirt was not so bad, especailly after a couple young adults walked in with holes in their jeans.
I would enjoy dressing up and going out here.
We had a table by the window. Nice views!
We got the early table special dinner. $20. for 3 courses Must order by 5:30 pm!!
Salad/or Soup- Soup was a red clam chowder. Both very good.
Nice bread selection.
3 choices of dinner: chicken, grouper or 8 oz strip steak.
We both had the strip steak. Very...good! It had a onion cream mixture in a pastry shell that was great on the steak. The mashed pototoes were average.
Desert: NY Style cheesecake or Key Lime pie
We had one of each. Key Lime pie had alot of flavor. Best of the two.
Waiter: very nice and polite

the outside looks like a place for shorts and t-shirts that should have a deck on the back.
the hostess says alot of people think this and turn away once they see that it is a bit more upscale and the prices start at $20 for just the meal.

The food was delicious and the service was timely and friendly. The view of the water at sunset was spectacular and the fish were jumping and the ducks and birds very active.. Only downside was a little too much salt. Sharing was no problem, gracious servers. I assume the cost was outrageous; however, I think more than $20 for an entree is expensive. I would not recommend it for a frugal diner, but for a special occasion you can't beat it. Excellent environment to take photographs with servers more than willing to accommodate. Fireplaces that gave a romantic background. Valet service available.
Most important was that we were nor rushed by servers while they were always available when we needed them. Casual dining acceptable; however, majority of gusts wore sport jackets and many had ties and formal gowns. Good place for a wedding reception, plenty of rooms for private parties. Basis of 1-10 not considering cost I would give it a 9.5!

Rusty Pelican mother's day brunch has become a tradition for our family and from the looks of the crowd a lot of other families. It starts with a complimentary champagne beverage to enjoy while looking out the windows at the beautiful Tampa Bay sea life. Then a feast to behold with many choices including prime beef, peel and eat shrimp, king crab and sushi, in addition to traditional egg and meat dishes. I particularly enjoyed the pasta bar- made to order- plenty of garlic- just right. There were many choices for dessert, including a chocolate fountain for dipping various dessert items. Highly recommended.
