“What an unexpected surprise!”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

Wow, I was delighted to find this wasnt your typical sports figure restaurant! Had the Twisted chicken and oh my gosh, it was soooo yummy! Real smashed taters, grilled. Chicken breast and topped with corn and bacon, sour cream and chopped tomatoes! Great presentation, great blend of flavors. And the bread pudding was unlike any I had had before. Totally unexpected and I only wish there aw one closer!

“Great Food, Good Prices”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This place has a little bit of a Sport Bar feel, well maybe more than a little bit. Actually one side has a theater size screen for watching sports, while the other side is more about dining. A mixture of southern cooking, with a twist. Great salads.

“Love Lunch at the Mother-Ship”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

I've eaten at several Lee Roy Selmon's locations, and the food is always great! I've had some not-so-good experiences with service at other locations, but the original "Mother-Ship" in Tampa is wonderful all around. Highly recommended!

“Good southern-style cooking”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

My nephew and brother-in-law wanted to go here for the friend chicken and waffles -- they looked great and were eaten without leaving a crumb (or sharing with others sadly). My sister and I had the chicken caesar and grilled shrimp salads -- both quite good. We were there for a late lunch after airport runs so it was very quiet. Good service. This is not fine dining but it is good food well prepared and well served.

“Only there for drinks this time”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

This review is about the bar area at this Lee Roy's location for this visit, but you can read my reviews about this location or dining at other locations from previous visits.

Lee Roy's has a great bar scene. Lots of TVs with a variety of sports on all the time. Busy and crowded in the evenings, but in a good, vibrant way. Bartenders are busy, but provide good service. Great food to munch on while you are imbibing.

The beer selection is okay, but don't confuse this with a pub. Sam Adams Seasonal is about as dramatic as it gets.

Had a fun time. Will be back.
