This Sweet Tomatoes is exactly what you would expect from an excellent salad+ restaurant. It doesn't pretend to be gourmet fare, just good food in a clean, pleasant atmosphere. The instructions are simple: grab a tray and plate, and proceed down past a long line of specialty salads, fresh vegetables, and toppings, gathering your favorites along the way. Next stop is at the bread and focaccia station to load up on goodies. If you still have room on your tray, there are pasta, baked potato/rice, and soup stations. The soups are some of the best available in the Tampa area. There are usually 6 or more different types available every day. Since this is a buffet, anything that you weren't able to gather on your first grazing, can be picked up on your subsequent trips. All of the various food stations are constantly being cleaned and re-stocked. The only one which has a difficult time keeping up is the bread station. A great ending is the dessert area which has a self-serve yogurt sundae bar and various fruits. After 4 PM, cobblers and lava cakes are usually available also. I've tried four other Sweet Tomatoes locations in Florida, and this one in Carrollwood is by far the best.
