This is a great place to grab a quick lunch for an affordable price.
The cubans are great as is the rest of the menu.
The prices are very reasonable.
I can grab lunch with a tip with a ten dollar bill and still get change back.

I was on a quest to find the perfect cuban sandwich like those I grew up eating here in Tampa. I must say, Hugo's by far is one of the best I've eaten! If you want the authentic taste of a Tampa sandwich--stop here!

This place has been here for years and we just tried it out per rrcommendations. It surpassed our expectations for value and flavor. If I want picadillo, I will come here. I'm impressed also with the size of the Cuban and the amount of meat in the sandwich. The menu is really vast as well. Enjoy.

Along SOHO (south Howard) restaurants come and go - sometyimes I think they spend more on the furnishings and paint job than care about the food. While Hugo's is located in a neat two-story commercial building, people know why they go to Hugos. It is a Spanish restaurant selling all the classic SPanish and Cuban dishes at West Tampa prices.
You can get big plates of black beans and yellow rice, but if you are new to Tampa, try the Ropa Vieja and Milanese steak. Don't rush the meal and finish with Cuban coffee and a flan. The menu is large and the prices will allow yourself to hit a few of the fancy bars in the district.

Hugo's location is one thing that it has going for it - Hyde Park! The atmosphere is laid back and casual, actually homey. And the food is delicious, a real treat! Not only was the Cuban sandwich exceptionally tasty, and the garbanzo bean soup warm and filling, but the veggie sandwich, which included grilled onion and bell pepper, was one of the best that I have ever had! This place has got it all, and at very reasonable prices - can't wait to go back!
