This is a favorite place with the Cubans. I know as I have lived in the Tampa area for 9 years and my fiance is Cuban. Arco Iris is especially known for their Cuban Chinese fried rice which can be served with your choice of meats. This food is all authentic and plenty of choices from appetizers like Chicharritas (fried plantain chips) to entrees like puerco asado (roast pork) to bistec de milanesa (breaded steak with cheese and green peas) to camarones enchilado (shrimp creole). They have soups, sandwiches, and desserts like pudin de pan (Spanish bread pudding). They serve beer, wine or opt for sangria or Cuban sodas, like Materva and Ironbeer. Entrees range from $6.50 to $15.00 with most on the lower range. We love their tostones (fried green plantains)! They have expanded the size of the restaurant so they have plenty of room now. Simple atmosphere, prompt service, good food - worth a visit. Even take out is fast and they have an area to wait for take outs. Not everyone on the staff speaks English well, so if you get one that doesn't, just ask for someone who does. They are on the corner of a plaza so there is plenty of parking, especially in the evening when most of the other businesses close.
