Description: Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 112 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.

“Great Spanish American Food”

Wonderful food, service, and ambiance.

My children grew up eating at this restaurant. Once my daughter fell asleep with her head dropping into her big bowl of Spanish Bean Soup. She was still in a high chair. We used to go there after church on Sundays.

I have always loved going to the Columbia Restaurant in all the Florida locations.

“Everything was great here!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012 via mobile

Everything we ordered was delicious! Absolutely everything. The service was very attentive. You won't believe how wonderful even the bread is. There were five of us and we ordered salads and a lot of appetizers. Then we ordered desserts. The churros are great, the guava turnover amazing and the white chocolate bread pudding was to die for.

“Delicious food but a bit noisy”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

This is a big place and very popular, so expect some waiting time if you have not booked a table. The interior is tasteful but due to the construction, it can get noisy at peak times. However, the food and service are impeccable and as Europeans we appreciated the fact that they did not rush us when having our three courses.

“Great food”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Many restaurants sell the ambiance, I just think the food is good. You sit very close to people but that is okay. We had a wedding in the extra room they have available, Nice little space.

“This is the original one and the best!!”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Great ambiance, great wait staff, great food, great "everything". If you are in Tampa - do not miss this. If you have only one evening, forget Burns Steak House (overpriced!) and include this real treasure.
