My girlfriend and I came here with a groupon for 2 drinks and an appetizer. Firstly, they placed limits on the groupon that didn't show up in the fine print or the restrictions or in the advertisement for the deal. The drinks were valued at $8 which means beer and maybe a well drink. Everyone knows that a good drink these days is at least $10, and sure enough, all of their specialty house drinks were $10. So that was B.S. - you can't make up restrictions on a gift certification after the party has already bought it. So, that's 1 star down.
Second star is gone because the drinks weren't that good and the bartender couldn't have acted more like he didn't want us there. He wasn't rude, but he must have taken 10 minutes to get our drinks and was just a disinterested sour person. my key lime pie martini (don't judge me) couldn't have tasted less like a key lime pie, and my girlfriends raspberry Bellini might not have had any razzmatazz.
The appetizer was good enough - tuna tartar - but you'd think if you're offering a groupon specifically limited to 2 drinks and an appetizer, you'd have more than 4 appetizers offered.
Most of the place looked nice. They had a cool outdoor patio that might have been fun if it hadn't been 10000 degrees. My only complaint about the inside is that I don't understand places that have unfinished ceilings, especially if you're trying to be hip or trendy. I don't want to look up and see piping and A/C units. It looks horrible, but maybe that's just me.
Funny thing is, even with 2 stars, we'll be coming back. Not to eat - never again - but they turn into a dance club at night and its romantic and hip enough on the inside, and the music options sound like our kind of thing, so that we'll give it another shot.
However, don't buy a groupon for this place, and probably best if you don't eat here period.
