Decided to try this place with a Groupon deal....so glad we did! Casual, basic decor...small "market" as well with intriguing items at fair prices. Our server was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and food preparation (this was my 1st sampling of middle-eastern food!). We both ordered "kabob" dinners.....both were SO good!!! I noticed that they have some excellent lunch specials, we will be back to try those, as well as the Sunday buffet....I think I am hooked! Very near USF and the Haley VA Hospital. Not fancy, but definitely good food!

I'm half Persian and can tell you the food is authentic and very tasty. About Heresie's review, I wouldn't give it too much weight, as she has also commented on other restaurant reviews, and all the reviews were bad, so what does that tell you? No Restaurant can satisfy her, just a whining complainer. However unfortunately, I did see one Roach, which might came from the recent remodel and that could happen anywhere. I would suggest for the Owner to get a good Pest Control, that way this restaurant is a Goldmine. Wonderful food!

I had visited this location under the old name of Morae's Café. Wow - what change! They have expanded the restaurant considerably and freshened the décor. We spotted a Groupon for this location and thought we would give it a try. They specialize in Persian food, which we found very exciting as our favorite kebab places in Tampa are all more Lebanese or Lebanese-inspired and there are subtle differences.

We started with their Soup of the Day (a delicious chicken and vegetable) and the house lentil soup (a well-spiced yellow lentil dal). Both were excellent but were overshadowed by the basket of hot, grilled pita triangles that arrived at the same time. I am not sure there is anything in this world better than hot, fresh bread products.

We tried the Jujeh Koobideh and the Soltani kebab combo. The Jujeh Koobideh included 1 skewer of the traditional chicken kabob (Jujeh) - delicious yogurt marinated chicken with a lovely golden hue from the turmeric and other spices - and 1 skewer of the ground beef kebab (Koobideh). The ground beef is my favorite kebab everywhere, as it tends to be more interestingly spiced and flavorful than the cubed beef options. Persia House of Kebabs earned its moniker with both of these offerings. Both were well seasoned, juicy and (a detail I love at kebab places) gently slid off the skewer before serving, nestled next to a mound of fluffy basmati. My guy did a combo of the Koobideh and sliced steak (Shish Kabob). He was really impressed to see the center pieces of the steak were cooked to a perfect medium, just as requested. This is no easy task on thin slices of steak. He preferred the steak, but also thought the ground beef kebab was well-seasoned and moist.

Nice atmosphere and a delicious looking buffet being offered on the night we visited (Saturday) for just under $14. The Groupon could not be used for the buffet, but it might be our preferred choice for our next visit. It included salad, hummus, the jujeh and koobideh kebabs and another of my favorites - Gormeh Sabiz, a luscious spinach, herb, and beef stew that is awesome over basmati. Looking forward to our next visit and they might be edging out Byblos Café as our Tampa favorite for kebabs. The food was every bit as good as Byblos, but for a little less moolah and they are closer to our end of town.

My friend and I loved the food here. We got the combination platter (appetizer) and shish kabob sandwich with adaesy (lentil soup). Everything was fresh and nicely spiced. The portions are filling. We had to take some food home. The wait person was friendly and helpful. The space is simply a small restaurant with no frill tables and chairs and an adjoining market. The establishment is very clean. You don't come here for the atmosphere. You come for the wonderful food and friendly, welcoming staff. I can't wait to visit my friend again so I can go back.
