“Beautiful location! Amazing treat for eaters, readers, & tea or coffee drinkers”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

An amazing gift to Tampa from the Caspers. This is a great example of where culture, intelligence, money, location, architecture and design are combined and the product is just a fabulous location to spend hours either reading a book, enjoying a meal, tea, great coffee or just catch up with a friend. Reminds me of so many cool coffee shops or boutiques across Europe. If you're staying in Downtown Tampa, visiting a student at University of Tampa or South Tampa, please treat yourself to visit this location.

The book / reading area is far more welcoming than Barnes & noble or any other bookstore could ever have envisioned. While not the largest selection of books, the books on display are grouped together by themes and just simply encourage you to grab one, sit down and pore over a few pages.

The Buddy Brew counter is fun. This is about as good as coffee gets in Tampa. I'm not much for tea but my friends who are rave about the tea options and enjoy the afternoon tea option.

The restaurant is good. I've eaten there for breakfast numerous times and find the food to be fresh, well seasoned and tasty. The place is packed for lunch and especially on weekends so they must be doing something good.

The shopping area is an eclectic collection of items and most have never been on sale in Tampa. Items you'd find at high end or cool boutiques in the hip areas of New York, Santa Monica, San Francisco, etc.

The entire Oxford Exchange package is definitely 5 STARS worthy. The restaurant is a solid offering but not at the level of the greatest restaurants I've eaten. When entering the stars, this asks for overall rating of the restaurant which is why I give the review 4 stars. Keep in mind, Oxford Exchange is far more than a restaurant.

“Hot Spot!”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

This restaurant serves Breakfast, Lunch, Tea at 4:00. A little noisy because it is the spot to have lunch right now. Bring sunglasses in case you get seated in the Atrium. Service is great and the food selections are all delicious. Gazpacho, Tuna Tartare, any Salad, Lobster BLT sandwich, and seasonal vegetables are all amazing. BYOB, $20 corking fee. No liquor here but stay for coffee at the coffee bar next door or have exotic teas at Teabella. If you are waiting for your table, the book store has many wonderful selections. A fun place to spend some time. Bring your tablet and stay awhile!

“Tasty Food & Fun Atmosphere”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

So much more than just a place to get a bite to eat, the Oxford Exchange is like a mini get-away-from-the-norm experience. A full block-sized lot is available for parking which is often hard to come by when you eat out in Tampa. When you first walk in you are greeted with an true Oxford (England) appeal with historic relics and decor in a book store. As you continue to the rear of the building where the restaurant and cafe are located, you can browse through an array of items for sale including modern jewelry, art, and tons of rare and practical items for your home. We enjoyed our 20 minute wait by browsing through the items for sale. You can come as you are with no problems but there are 2 things to note: Firstly, there was definitely an heir of "who's who" in the crowd meaning you may feel out of place if you aren't dressed well. Secondly, it's very loud due to the atrium style and vaulted ceilings. The menu was perfectly sized with limited options all of which looked delicious. The hot or cold tea & coffee options were endless. We didn't see anything that didn't sound delicious. I had the chicken burger which was unlike anything I've ever tasted (yummy). My wife had the club salad and she loved it. I have no unfavorable comments to make. We are in the bay area a handful of times every year for business and pleasure and will definitely return.

“Eclectic Restaurant/Book Store/Gift Shop”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Friends told us that we HAD to try the Oxford Exchange and it's hard to explain why. That is exactly right. Lots to see and do and great for people watching. We were a group of five ladies and we all loved our lunches. Great high end book store. The gift shop is very interesting but the prices are too high. It's a good idea to book a table in the restaurant. This is a very busy breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea restaurant. The down side is that when it's so busy the acoustics are very bad. We had a hard time hearing each other or the waiter until the restaurant cleared out a little. It's probably not so bad if you sit in the courtyard area. Next time...

“Beautiful venue in Tampa”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

The Oxford Exchange is a unique place to visit in Tampa, FL. The building itself is beautiful inside. Kudos to whomever renovated it. High ceilings, great lighting, awesome pictures on the walls. Lots to look at. The restaurant is also beautiful. I had a chopped spinach salad that I would love to have the recipe for. Very small sliced pairs, gorgonzola, sunflower seeds and an fabulous dressing with a touch of mint. The drink that the server suggested, however, was terrible. Some kind of tea lemonade-very bitter and $4.00. Tasted better when doctored up with a bit of splenda. The food was good but very pricy. My tea and salad (and it wasn't huge) with a tip came to $20.00. There is also a beautiful book store in the Oxford Exchange. I could see going there again, with a book and just hanging out looking at the beautiful people and things. It's that kind of place. Lots of comfy looking chairs and sofas to sit in. Not a place I would go to a lot, as it's pretty pricey, but definitely worth a trip and I would go there for a special treat.
