“Amazing Sunday morning experience.”

Beautiful temple, great food, wonderful river view. Come early, 10 to 10:30 to avoid the long lines. I found this on TripAdvisor while visiting cousins in St. Petersburg (who were unfamiliar with the temple). They were very glad I persuaded them to go. The noodle soup is not too spicy for kids and everyone likes the fried bananas.

“Interesting cultural experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

Enjoyed some great food and lots of crowds gathering for more of the same. Get there as early as you can, expect a to wait in que for 45-50 minutes just for noodles! My friend and I split up so I could get food from another line. Nice waterfront dining too.

“Very cool.”

We had some amazing food here! Got there a little after 10am and things were already hopping. Fried bananas were so good. Also tried the noodle bowl, yummy, basil chicken, dumplings and something else that was like a little fried pie. All for about $20. the temple is beautiful and I wish I could have learned more about it.

“Beautiful property set on the River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

We have been to the Temple on Sundays for the brunch and enjoyed it very much. There is a wide variety of Thai food items at reasonable prices. I love the soup but one bowl of that is really a filler. Can always take the other items home with you. Nice vegetable and plant market as well.

“A little bit of Thailand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

Sundays at the Wat Temple is to experience a little bit of Thailand with an authentic temple that is open to the public and provides services at 1:00 p.m

The location is a lovely park setting on the Hillsborough River with many picnic benches. Sometimes there are women who play the old Thai instruments in the Gazebo.

Vendors who are volunteers and donate the money to the temple offer a variety of food. Most of the dishes are well known like curry and Pad Thai. We especially like all of the desserts that you won't find in any of the Thai Restaurants in Tampa. They sell out quickly so you'll need to be there well before 1:00 p.m. The hot coconut deserts are the best in our humble opinion. The hot soups are a favorite among many of the visits; maybe I'll try them when the weather turns cooler. They also sell very beautiful flowers and plants, especially orchids, and some Thai spices. It's a must do if you like Thai food and spend a lovely Sunday morning there.
