Excellent place to stay

Excellent place to stay! Amazing service at the pool. Bartender Shawn was extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend staying here. We come every year and stay at this hotel. Family friendly and close to everything!

I visited a friend the last 2 days who was staying at this hotel.July 15 & 16 2019. Both days I used the Valet Service which is Towne Valet. Horrible customer service, disorganized and my experience with the valet cashiers was unacceptable! They held my keys hostage for my name did not match the hotel guest. Are you kidding me??! Of course it won't match I'm a guest of the hotel guest! Asked for my DL and registration and made me wait for 15 minutes! I was deeply embarrassed and felt harassed. They did all these in front of the hotel guests waiting for their car. I have never been treated like that in a high end hotel like The Marriott. No apology, NOTHING! Albeit the hotel staff that we encountered were courteous and friendly, I will NEVER RECOMMEND this hotel again to any of my friends and family. Marriott should re-visit the quality of the valet service. It's shameful and customer service is non existent. Not what I expected in a 5 star hotel. I should have told him to stay at The Ritz instead.

PS: Construction going on outside the lobby, making it difficult to venture out to Jackson's and American Social.

Room tip: Ask for the higher floors, we were on the 20th floor and the city and water views were amazing!

There were too many misses and too few hits during our stay. I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel since it opened as an overnighter for a Bolts game or event at Amelie. Sunday before a concert at Amelie: booked a balcony room (premium reservation); however, due to 'painting' the table and chairs were removed from our balcony. There was not painting activity on a Sunday and the staff could've moved the balcony table and chairs off the balcony the next day (Monday) when painting resumed. Paid a premium only to not enjoy the upgraded room. Only three elevators out of six were operable...extremely long lines and wait. After the show the elevator line extended well past check -in. My wife and I ate at the Garrison Tavern before the show and had a TERRIFIC experience! Good food and service. We attempted to go back to the Garrison after the show; however there was a 45 minute wait - in spite of numerous empty tables in full view - due to only 'two servers' being on duty. Two servers on a Sunday night after a concert? We wanted to patronize the restaurant after the show and put our name on the list...and LEFT after another patron, who bullied the hostess, was seated right away. Wow. It wasn't much better in the lobby as after we found a table, it was over 30 minutes of servers looking right through us before I had a flag someone down to clean the table and take our order. Staffing was a mess at this hotel and the overall level of service did not match with the price or expectation of the venue. The value and service were lacking in spite of repeatedly overlooking the misses and hoping the next expectation was met. We are far from demanding....but the value must match the price. I am not sure if we will come back.

Room tip: Make sure you verify the balcony will have furniture for you to enjoy!

Stayed here for the convenience, valet pkg was $32 bucks w/o tip, but handy. We'd asked for high floor w/view, check in put us in room w/balcony totally filled & blocked w/construction materials.
I asked for mgr help & Hayley came right out, we were moved. Paid a little more for club level, food was nice, Ashley & David were great service in club.
Shower floor was reeeeal slippery tho, no mat, we put towel on shower floor for safety.
Elevators were broken (3 out of 6) from lightening strike, but well managed by staff who handled the mob that came over after great ELO concert. :D
Lance helped at check out, verrry nice... would stay here again!

Room tip: Close to elevator also gets you close to Concierge Lounge on 24th fl.

After reading some of the previous reviews, I wondered if we stayed at the same place! From valet parking, to check in (by Lance) to check out (also by Lance) everyone was very pleasant. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed pillows were alittle flat, but no big deal. Very convenient to Amalie Arena where we took a 5 minute walk to go to a concert. Living in Florida, the construction is just an everyday occurrence and only a minor inconvenience. Also, when we returned from the concert the elevator lines were long, because 2 of the elevators were not working. The staff handled this well, forming lines and organizing. We would stay here again.

Near perfect location for arena event, short walking distance. Construction everywhere but I noticed no noise from that in 25th floor room. My issues were minor ...Pepsi machine empty on floor 25 ....had to select yucky orange drink ! Also had to go down five floors to an ice machine. Inconvenient to say the least, but manageable. Parking garage was closed for self parking due to arena event but valet price was ,comparable to how much I would have been charged self parking per day. Car retrieval was fast, but it was 6:30am. Waits are longer in peak exit times. Loved the free trolley to aquarium and back. Room had unique design ..large bath area, and the view was awesome. Beds very comfy as was room conditions. Easy check in and checked out using TV in room remote. Prices in snack area were high, did not try restaurants but waterside grille looked good....pool was huge on third floor. It did rain most of stay but it was light and I never score bad weather against a hotel. Elevators were a bit slow in peak times and because of a lightning strike, a couple may have been not working. In room safe was great, also had fridge and a couple complimentary waters.

Room tip: High floor for view
