A group of us dined at the Tampa Texas de Brazil location on a recent Saturday evening. The only reservation we could get (called a week ahead) was 5:15, the place was super busy throughout our dinner.
This was our first visit to this restaurant, although all of us had dined at other name Brazilian type steakhouses and were familiar with the concept.
The Tampa location has great ambiance, very upscale. The service was excellent throughout our visit, certainly no complaints there. Our waitress was very attentive and we were not rushed at all (in spite of how bust they were).
Though the real star here is the assortment of meats, the salad bar is very impressive. The hot items could have been a bit hotter but the salad bar items were presented very well.
Once you flip the stop/go coin to green, the parade of meat immediately begins. We were quickly able to try all of the various cuts and then zeroed in on our favorites. Our waitress continuously checked in to see if we were getting the types of meat we liked. If we didn't see a particular cut in a while, she steered it to our table.
Some meat cuts were better than others but quality was very good across the selections. Loved the mini filet mignons and the sausages. Hard to imagine anyone leaving this place hungry.
Be prepared to spend some $$ here. After you add drinks (pricey) and dessert (which is not included) to the $43 per person "all you can eat" price, the tab gets up there. An 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill (we were a party of 7). We didn't have an issue with this since the service was excellent.
Definitely give Texas de Brazil a try, it's a neat concept that allows you to try a great assortment of foods. If you are the type that only likes one cut of steak or are not a big eater, you might not think Texas de Brazil is worth it.
