On the waterside river walk and staffed with friendly employees. Self guided museum on the history of Tampa. Very nice displays and excellent history movie on early settlement.

“Map Heaven”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

A very nice museum that covers about every aspect of history in Florida. The displays are great and there are numerous hands-on things for kids. The Tampa Bay History Center is hosting "Historic Maps of Florida" which was the best map display I have ever seen! Don't miss it!

There is a JFK exhibit, when he visited Tampa in 1963. It is a limited time only.
Worth the visit. I have been to the History Center several times, but this is an
exciting exhibition. Please try to make the extra visit.

“A Real Surprise”
Reviewed November 23, 2013 via mobile

Went to see the Florida Map exhibit which was amazing. But the rest of the museum is equally outstanding. The Cigar / Ybor City section is very informative and filled with memorabilia. Lots of interactive exhibits for both kids and adults. A real quality museum.
