“Loud and Pretty Lousy”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

The consensus is right. Simple items like olives and chickpeas taste stale. Feta is bland and beef kebob is unimpressive. The restaurant can be unimaginably loud at night. Maybe a quick lunch is okay if other restaurants nearby are busy. But, maybe not.

“stuck here waiting for cruise...luckily we found this little place!”

Our ship was many hours late, so we came in for lunch and stayed for dinner. Food was amazing, service great, staff so accommodating. Thank you and Opa!

“We wanted good food”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

How to start this review? it's hard to think about all the bad experience we had.

First we arrived at the place it was EMPTY (side note it was a saturday night), after we got sat we were told the server would be right out, well 10 minutes later comes the host back and tells us that he will have to serve us because the server is entertaining some ladies because the belly dancer didn't show up, well he did an awesome job helping us out but the people he works with not so much. He placed an order for a dirty martini and again the bartender took another 10 minutes to make them because of the same ladies. After we received the martinis i felt like it wasn't dirty enough so i had to walk back all the way to the bar to get it fixed because the host/server disappeared (he might have being sitting other people but who knows), the bartender had a nasty attitude and told me well i made it this way because the server told me to. i didn't ask him if the server told him or not i just wanted to get it fixed.

anyways, food comes out and it was okay we ate and waited for our check. Check comes out and what do i know, it was wrong they charged us for an extra martini. you think that, that's all? no it's not. We asked for the manager, in which he came out DRUNK the manager was rubbing upon my friend that was next to me RUBBING him sexually trying to explain the extra charge slurring the words and couldn't even complete his sentences. only thing i can think of is that he was entertaining the girls at the bar too much that he had one too many shots.

SO DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE, they will over charge you and the service is terrible. the restaurant looked abandoned. We all know that channelside isn't what it was in the past, but everywhere else we went there look vibrant and alive not Taverna Opa.

We went to enjoy a leisurely dinner outside by the water. We never made it past a few appetizers, all of which were terrible. Spanakopta (recommended by the waitress) was obviously a cheap frozen impression. Couldn't even take a second bite. Don't mean to be gross, but one bite of the mushy calamari soaked in oil had me spitting it out in a napkin. Need I say more? Thankfully, we had not yet ordered entrees and we left and went somewhere else. Ugh!

“Nice view poor service”
Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

We picked this place for the view and location. Friends has been there before and they were accommodating for gluten free choices. This time, looked like their staff attention was taken up by a wedding reception. Our orders were mixed up, we waited a long time and appetizer we ordered did not arrive ahead of time. Food was okay, nothing outstanding. We did like the outside seating and music in the plaza nearby. If there is an event going on, bypass!
