“If you're in the Tampa Bay area, YOU must drive this Blvd.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Enjoy the amazing views, admire the walkers, bikers, joggers and families or weddings taking pictures. Get out of the car and actually walk part or all of the 4 mile sidewalk - you may be treated with dolphins and on some rare occasions, manatees. Very inspirational place to be at sunrise and you may get to see some of the best sunrises of your life.

Be careful of the cyclists...thank you

“Gorgeous!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

This is a gorgeous area! Running next to the bay with the ocean wind blowing in your face is just something special. The residential homes/mansions in this area are something to behold.

“Take a walk on the Boulevard”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

We have been to Tampa dozens of time but never saw this special part of the city before. This is a lovely residential area with the city highrises in the background, the bay to your left and gorgeous estates on your right! I could have walked forever. Clearly a popular place for local outdoor enthusiasts as there were plenty of people walking, running and biking...all extremely friendly and welcoming.

“Drive the whole length of the road”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Bayshore Boulevard, running south from downtown Tampa beside the bay has the distinction of claiming to have the longest unbroken strech of sidewalk in the United States. It is used daily by runners, skateboarders, bicyclists and other exercise buffs.

The decorative ballustrade is also unbroken for the entire length of the sidewalk. Driving the street also gives a view across the bay to the Tampa Electric Generating Plant at Black Point and the huge mountain of waste produced by the phosphoric fertilizer production plant to the south.

When you reach the southern end of the sidewalk, continue south through the traffic light to the Ballast Point Fishing Dock and Park a few blocks further on for a chance to get out of the car and enjoy the view or the park playground.

Any time I have out of town visitors I take them for a visit to the Bayshore.
