I lived on the Hillsborough River for many years. We canoe on it when we go camping at Hills. River State Park. If you enjoy nature; alligators, turtles, wild birds, etc. You will love spending a day on this river.

My parents lived on the banks of the Hillsborough River when I was born. I wish we still did. There's just something about it.

Along it's long and meandering flow, there are many places to see it...experience it.

From up north, you can spend time actually IN it within the Hillsborough River State Park. I've spent many times in the park and you can actually stick your feet (and your whole body if you so dare) in the water.

There are places to put in boats, kayaks, canoes, even inner tubes, and laze down the river. Just remember that it's a living river with living things in it, including ducks, fish, snakes, frogs, turtles, and alligators. So be always watching.

If you aren't interested in taking a dip, jump in a boat and be sure to bring along that fishing pole. There's plenty of fish to be caught.

And if even that is too much work, a gentle stroll with your spouse some evening is pretty darn nice.
