I read about this place on tripadvisor so when I took the family to Busch Gardens for the weekend we thought we would give it a try. Everything was wonderful! I didn't know Mexican food could be so good! The people there were also great and even invited us to use their parking lot for the day when we went to the park just to save us the 12 dollars that Busch Gardens charges for parking. Really nice people! We have the annual passes park passes so will be back again soon and will without at doubt come back to Casa Mexicana!

We were very happy with our meals at Casa Mexicana. We were traveling with our extended family, 4 children ages 5-9 and 4 adults.

Meals:
Appetizer: Mountain of nachos and a Fiesta platter (variety of starters)

Dinner: Fish taco's

Two adults (guys) actually split the two appetizers as a meal and we were both filled with leftovers. The fish taco's were excellent.

The menu contained numerous authentic Mexican food items, with a liberal sprinkling of American Mexican food choices.
Service:
We were greeted by the manager (possibly the owner). He was very friendly and helpful. Noticing our 5 yr old daughter was falling asleep, after a long day at Busch Garden's which is a block away, he helped us to a quiet corner of the restaurant. Our waitress was prompt, had helpful suggestions and made sure our glasses were full.

The restaurant was child friendly, by that I mean typical children's conversations and occasional outburst of excitement were not noted by other patrons.

It should be noted, the atmosphere can use a little work, updating. The floor showed the cement foundation in one place and some of the furniture was showing its age. But the restaurant was clean overall. This place received our stamp of approval and we really enjoyed ourselves.

The service here was top notch, though the atmosphere could use some improvement (fresh paint and decor is needed). The food came very fast, and everything was fresh. The menu and meals are authentic mexican, and it appeared to be patroned by locals; always a good sign!

We used to go to Tia's (Fowler Blvd.) when we'd stay in Tampa and go to Bush Gardens. Wanted to try something different. The food was great but ZERO ambiance. They were going to have live music later in the night. Portions were great but drinks were crazy expensive ($4.00 Corona and $6.00 Margarita) for a mom and pop. Bottom line: GREAT FOOD.

I Stopped in for lunch today, we have driven by many times but just never made it inside, that was my mistake. I ordered the lunch Taco Salad with grilled chicken, it was amazing, full of grilled, seasoned chicken, topped with avacodo, tomatoes and sour cream. The real surprise was it wasnt your typical "taco' mix, it was full of romaine lettuce, greens, black beans and fetta cheese. It was fresh and tasted healthy, not over done at all. We will be back for dinner! Oh and the Owner/Manager even stopped by to ask how my lunch was and if I was having a good day! Great alternative to Red Lobster or Olive Garden if you are visiting Busch Gardens.
