Owner description: Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

“Big Cat Day”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is a wonderful place to get a feel for these magnificant animals. To hear the stories of how the cats became residents of Big Cat Rescue is so very sad. Our guide was new, however, she was very educated about the cats and the rescue. The care these animals get is amazing and if you go, you should walk away with a feeling of wanting to help in any way you can. We will visit again, I am sure.

“Thank goodness for this place and the wonderful people!”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

I have been a supporter of Big Cat Rescue for a while now. I felt honored to have had the opportunity to visit the facility and meet the fantastic staff! These folks truly have a huge heart to be taking care of the injured, abused and/or abandoned animals. The tour fee of $29 goes directly to keep the animals safe and healthy. Do not expect a zoo as it's truly a rescue facility. The staff and volunteers do everything possible to keep the animals in the best habitat possible and when they can, they are returned to the wild. For some of them, this will be their home forever. It truly is an inspirational place to visit. It'll do your heart good!
