What a great museum! Only $10 to get in & includes the audio tour which gives you tons of information. Lots of original items from the 1800's & lots of completely finished rooms. The staff
are very friendly. Be sure to walk through the othger part of the building used by the University also. We even ate our lunch out on the veranda. Loved this visit!

I liked the sense of history as it is interwoven into the exhibits. The location on the Hillsboro River is quite beautiful, but be careful--tourists and students have been murdered and mugged there.

Small but beautiful museum that has period rooms from a Gilded Age Florida hotel, as well as historical information about the hotel and early Florida tourism/railroads. If you are interested in antiques, interior design, Gilded Age, Floridian history, or hotels, this is a great visit. The inside is all lit with only natural light and period light bulbs, so it's quite striking just to walk through the hallway dimness. Friendly helpful staff. Also a very well curated and well merchandised gift shop!
