“Old Florida Charm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

I liked the sense of history as it is interwoven into the exhibits. The location on the Hillsboro River is quite beautiful, but be careful--tourists and students have been murdered and mugged there.

“Lovely little place in Univ of Tampa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

Small but beautiful museum that has period rooms from a Gilded Age Florida hotel, as well as historical information about the hotel and early Florida tourism/railroads. If you are interested in antiques, interior design, Gilded Age, Floridian history, or hotels, this is a great visit. The inside is all lit with only natural light and period light bulbs, so it's quite striking just to walk through the hallway dimness. Friendly helpful staff. Also a very well curated and well merchandised gift shop!

“Beautiful place”

This is one of the most beautiful landmarks in the Tampa Bay area in my opinion. The annual Green Fest Plant Show in March is fantastic! The buildings are just beautiful.

“A Good, Interesting Way To Spend An Hour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

The Henry B. Plant Museum is an interesting way to spend an hour or less if you are in Tampa and looking for something to do.

You get to see how Plant designed his Tampa Bay Hotel and the rich history that it saw. They've preserved and redecorated some of the original rooms the way they looked back then.

And of course, you get to see the magnificent architecture of the hotel, which houses the University Of Tampa, with its spectacular minarets.

So if you need something to do for a short period of time, check out the museum.
