There are a LOT of cops out at night to keep things safe. We went to Gaspers garage (sp)? Then after ate at Old Manhattan Pizza.

Don't fall for the free shuttle service to Skin Tampa strip club. They prey on drunks to get in their shuttle so they can get you there and suck your wallet dry.

I had to save my drunk buddies from falling victim to Skin.

Good place for hipsters to find a bite to eat or grab a drink, Ybor City has a variety of cultural foods to choose from. It is a colorful place to walk around if you are looking to socialize, as it is usually quite crowded.

If you're visiting Tampa, don't just stop at Busch Gardens and call it a day. If there are adults in your party, pay a visit to Ybor. It's not just Spring Break party hearty over there, and there's more going on than Guavaween. This is an historic neighborhood where all the social club buildings are located, and some of them are still in use as social clubs. The old cigar factory buildings are here. You can see a lot of the town's history as you walk the cobblestone streets. There are a lot of quirky shops and restaurants here, too. The original Columbia Restaurant with Flamenco shows is here, as well as Bernini, the Green Iguana, and a number of food trucks. There are also more standard tourist attractions over at Centro Ybor.

If you have the opportunity to visit Ybor City you will learn a lot about the cigar making industry if you hit the right spots! Most Tampa residents worked in the cigar making industry in the early part of the 1900's, both sides of my family included. You can still see remnants of a very ethnically mixed culture which formed the diverse culture of Tampa residents today. Tampa natives know why the Cuban sandwich has salami, ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese and pickles! Each component represents one of the ethnic foods of the people who moved to Tampa and made it a great city! Look beneath the surface of Ybor to the very rich history. Make sure you eat a Cuban sandwich while you are there, and a deviled crab too. Don't ask. Just order it! With hot sauce!

I live in Tampa and whenever my friends or family come in town I always include Ybor city as a place for my visitors to see. Ybor city has something for everyone from eating at the historic Columbia, Florida's oldest restaurant to dancing at a variety of clubs.
