From our hotel we took the trolley to Ybor City; We hopped off; walked the several streets to shop but there was no real shopping; lots of tattoo type shops and apparel, if you like that; smoking stuff; No real restaurants to leisurely happen upon; we walked it pretty quickly and returned to the trolley station to get the ride back to hotel; A real waste of time and money; we went in the afternoon; no many people there either; we were anxious to see the area as the write ups are all fun; but it did not work for the 5 of us!

Great Smokes - Great Mojito. Lots of fun just people watching. This area is a visual treat not to be missed. Great family atmosphere before dark...

Ybor is the city to learn and feel about old Florida and cigars. We had lunch at the famous Columbia Restaurant and the food as well as the treatment was excellent. We visited museums and different stores and also stop at different cafes to warm up because when we went the temperature dropped to 42. We visited different parks and the Mall. There are new restaurants, cafes and the environment is really nice quiet, clean and safe.

My last visit was in 2009 before last weekend (April 2013)... what a difference! New restaurants, businesses, and at least 7 more cigar shops and cafe's. The place was totally cleaner and some of the shady/nasty bars-clubs were gone. I heard later they closed them down for good.

People were walking the streets all day shopping, taking pictures, watching cigars being made, what a place! If you are a cigar lover, or you just like history, this is the place for you!
