We were limited on what to do during the day - the aquarium is nice but I was disappointed that they have some "friends" not on display. We just happen to see the penguins walking outside and told they were rarely brought out. Nothing to see on the 1st floor and only a small bit on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor is about it. We did take the dolphin boat ride. No dolphins (we were find with that) but HATED all the jokes the guide told. There is a splash pad for kids outside.

We enjoyed our visit to the aquarium. There are a few displays that are hands on that the kids would really enjoy. Our favorite part was the coral area.

No, I don't mean right this minute, but if you're close enough to visit this aquarium, then you should go there and learn more about where you are physically in the Tampa Bay Area. You are part of the ecosystem, whether you like it or not and this Aquarium will provide you with the opportunity to see the web of life that's all around you while visiting or living in this area. We get to see the birds, fish and even the otters that we normally miss in the rush of everyday life. I recommend seeing the whole place and then returning to your favorite exhibits to indulge your curiosity and fascination. Mine are the seahorses and jelly fish exhibits, though I can sit and stare at their largest exhibits of the main reef, and the coral farm display tank. I became a member there again this year to support their successful research on growing coral that is seriously in danger of extinction.

The Florida Aquarium was fun but very informative. The kids learned how important coral reef is and they were amazed at the sea animals they’ve never seen before. They enjoyed touching the Sting Rays the most.

enjoyed the exhibits, nicely done inside and out. A relaxing day to spend in Tampa. My favorite area was the wet lands, so nature looking the otters were fun to watch.
