The Florida Aquarium is a fascinating place. As a lifelong Florida resident, I absolutely loved the Florida exhibit. I was able to do the behind the scenes penguin encounter and it was amazing. The penguins were extremely friendly and you were able to see and pet one up close. Each person was able to spend time with a penguin and it was an incredible experience. If you're in Tampa the aquarium is definitely worth your time.

It's not the largest aquarium I've ever seen, but it's a neat little place with plenty to do. 2-3 hours should get you through the whole thing, but the variety of wildlife is more than worth the price of admission!

Great for kids and adults. Amazing assortment of sea animals, with a special emphasis on the small ones (seahorses, sea dragons, etc). The attached waterpark makes it a full day outing, well worth the money.

This aquarium was nothing special. We were expecting a little more being a large aquarium in Tampa. This was nothing more special than you'd expect to see at an aquarium in Kentucky. The price was high & the exhibits were average. Natural lighting in some parts created a glare on the glass of some tanks making it difficult to see inside.

Save your money...

One tip, go early! We got there when the aquarium opened at 9:30 and were pretty much done by 2:30 when it got very busy. As floridians, we appreciate inside activities away from the brutal florida sun. Our son loved the sharks, the touch tanks and especially the outdoor water play area. Bring your child a swim suit and towel. The live bird areas did smell quite foul and fishy but they do house live animals that eat and poop fish! Its located in down town tampa near thte glazer childrens museum. You could probably hit both in one day with careful planning.
