Enjoyed an afternoon at the aqarium with teenagers. We arrived early and bought the penguin experience, $30/ person add on to interact with South African penguins. This happens 2x/ day and well worth it! They only allow ten people per group so it is intimate, no age limit so you may be with young kids. You get very close and get to pet the birds.
We went off site for lunch and returned to enjoy the exhibits again. Had to 'sneak' and just happen to be near a show, since the kids didn't want to go, but when we heard it, they were hooked! Stayed later than we planned due to trick or treating, that gets busy! We plan to go back when weather allows for the cruise and maybe a snorkel in a fish tank.
went outside for lunch and

I am a huge aquarium fan and this was a complete let down. Over $20 per adult and its basically just fish. They have the odd small shark, they bring out the penguins on parade twice a day as there is no habitat for us to see them in and there are no manatees. The rays are impressive but overall this is very much for little children, no one over the age of 7. Lots of things they can touch and interact with on computer screens. We were done in an hour. Back to SeaWorld.

We really enjoyed this aquarium. We also did the dolphin cruise, which I thought was worth it. I haven't been to very many aquariums, so I don't have much to compare it to. I think it would be a great place to take kids for the afternoon. We did see dolphins on the cruise, and it was a lovely day to just be out on the water. We stopped to look at a lot of the animals, and I think it took around a couple of hours, not including the cruise.

The Florida Aquarium was rather typical of aquariums (we've visited several across America). But that didn't keep us from thoroughly enjoying our visit. The displays were well-labeled and the staff were friendly and well-informed. The "shows" were interesting and the displays were beautiful. We were impressed with the man-made reefs; they reminded us of the real ones we've seen in diving off the coast of Mozambique. The aquarium has a good selection of sealife. I particularly enjoyed the seahorse room.

Offer many shows, so check the schedule beforehand, so you don't miss something you want to do or see. Staff is helful and great with kids. Food is expensive.
