Visited Busch Gardens today. The first time for 20 years, so you can imagine how excited we were. Sadly many of the rollercoasters weren’t operating! There had been no mention of this on the website. Whilst we enjoyed all the facilities that were available, especially old favourites like the train and sky ride we still left feeling a little short changed.

Spent a full day here in October 2018 as part of a ticket deal which only worked out at £10 per head for the family four adults and one child.

Arrived at 9am from Orlando ( self drive ).

My impressions of the park were that it is definitely more earthly than Disney with the attractions much less busy with some small animal enclosures.

There was a good selection of thrill rides which we mostly rode twice due the crowds being smaller than back in the Orlando Parks.

The security was strict but allowed our picnics and cold flasks to be taken in and consumed in the park. We did top up from one of the varied food outlets which was slightly cheaper than we had been used to.

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and the Safari trek was worth the time and effort.

Only downside ( my personal opinion ) are the sizes of some of the enclosures in which the animals seemed run down. Maybe if they cut back on the small ones and made a few larger enclosures to give the animals more space it might help the with atmosphere.

The park is a fair size but can be easily walked if you spend the full day.

Tips would be arrive early / take a picnic / do not go if your sole interest are the animals on show.

Plenty of animals to see. Rides and shows could be seen without long lines. The kids are entertained without it costing Mom n Dad an arm/leg.

We have Sea World & Aquatica on numerous occasions but have never ventured out to Busch Gardens until this stay in Florida.
This place is amazing. So many animals to see and the chance to interact with. The landscaping there is amazing and it is kept immaculately.
There are a lot of things that are extra but it is up to you whether you want to do these things. I loved every minute of the day and it really does require a full day.

We, four adults, visited Busch Gardens. We enjoyed the time spent there, 5-6 hours, but felt in the end that you only get full value for money if you use all the rides, which we didn’t.

We rode three rides each plus the train.

I also feel that being charged for parking and online booking fees is just annoying.

Had a blast on the coasters today! Montu twice-lots of fun! Sky Ride, ridiculously long line and no Quick Queue for it. Grrrr. Had a fun walk across the animal area, but didn't really see a great variety. It's needs a little TLC of signage and information. Also rode Kumba (get ready to have your ears beaten against the sides of the harness) but still a fun coaster. Cheetah Hunt (probably my favorite) is a blast with so many "reshoots"! Falcon's Fury is worth the wait and sure to make you smile and scream with joy. Can't wait for new ones!

Unfortunately, Cheetah Hunt broke down and we had to return later. Sheikra broke down and we didn't get to ride.

Always have a great time in this theme park. Different rides for every style, good for kids of every age and price is still reasonable compare to orlando parks. The animals are always fun to go and visit with the kids

We have been to Busch Gardens before and enjoyed it so we decided to try some insider tours for something different, we tried the tiger insider and gorilla insider tours, they were amazing we meet the two white tigers as the were put through a training session, but by far the gorillas stole the show we got to feed two baby gorillas and there mums. Well worth the 29 dollars each.

During our vacation in Florida we have spent three days in Busch Gardens Tampa. Both of us have already been familiar with this animal park, and to make a long story short, it is by far not as good as it has been used to, and here are four reasons why.

First and foremost, the park’s pricing strategy is ridiculous. As a visitor you get the impression that Busch Gardens want to rip off your hardly earned bucks. It starts with parking: In earlier days (we speak about 4-5 years ago), whole day parking was 5 USD. It has now increased to 22 USD (during this year’s first visit) and even up to 25 USD now. That’s not inflation rate, Busch Gardens! Even employees have ashamedly answered that they cannot understand the parking fees. Busch Gardens’ pricing continues with 6 USD for a whole day transferable locker. Here we have to point out that the self-service terminals are more than questionable, as they give you the impression that booking a whole day locker is only possible by simultaneously selecting a quick queue pass.

Second, during our three stays this year we have been confronted with rides being closed. Please note that we are not talking about bad weather by any means (at least 80F and no clouds visible). Moreover, rides were either closed due to maintenance (a comprehensible reason, even if we have never seen so many rides being closed, and during one day each the wild water channel and Sky Ride were completely shut down) or simply due to “weather” (we had the bad impression of Busch Gardens wanted to save some money on employees, as this time of the season was rather low peak).

Third, the amount of shows has significantly decreased: No 4D cinema, no street parades, no acrobatic show, and no free beer (not that it has bothered us, but it still underlines Busch Gardens’ austerity policy…). Instead, we have seen a comedy-based pet show (more for the small visitors), a non-recommendable singing show, and a really fantastic ice show in Moroccan Palace. But guess what, exactly this ice show has been discontinued on our third visit due to “Christmas preparation”… Not satisfying at all. Furthermore, we were extremely disappointed that the automatic jeep Safari tour does not exist anymore (apparently for some years now). There are still Safari jeep tours with a guide, but you have to pay for them. This is extraordinarily dissatisfying, as animals (and seeing them closely) differentiates Busch Gardens from other parks in Florida (despite See World).

Fourth, we have not found a light lunch for a reasonable price that attracts us anyhow. Doing rides continuously strains the stomach, and having light food instead of fat dripping fries or pizza might not be the worst idea.

Despite all the negative aspects, we have seen some great animals, and wanted to highlight the animal care center, the gorillas, orang-utans, and the tigers. We have also been impressed by the cheetah hunting demonstration and how devotional most animal trainers have explained any detail. Last but not least, the rides (Sheikra, Montu, Cheetah Hunt, to name a few) are still good and equipped with a different character each, whereas the free fall tower has been new to us.

Hi Caroline! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts concerning your recent visit to Busch Gardens. The experiences and comments of our guests are always welcome and greatly appreciated. We continually update and replace rides and shows to provide new and exciting experiences for our guests with each visit. We do still offer free beer during select times of 2018. Free beer will be available for all of 2019. We do offer our ride maintenance schedule and show schedule on our website. We would recommend reviewing these schedules when planning a trip to ensure your favorite ride or show will be available. Our parking fee is on par with other theme parks in the area. The $5 parking fee was not available within the past 5 years. We have shared your comments with the leadership team for their review and appropriate action.

This place is great. I have been there several times and love the holidays when they decorate it. Halloween is awesome too as they make some haunted houses and have gouls wondering around the park. Generally the park is clean, the rides are great but like other parks, some days it will be packed with bus loads of kids. On these days you may have to spend more money to buy the quick pass or risk not getting to ride all the rides.
