“great room and price”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

got first floor king ns arriving at 6:30p even w/o reservation. Friendly staff, nice lobby. location great right off i-10 and had lots of dog walking areas. Nice room, bed was a little hard. Had nice big flat screen tv, fridge, microwave. One of the best la Quintas I've stayed at.

Room Tip: 104 was easy to locate and near office

When going back up to visit Tallahassee I was pretty familiar with the hotels that are around town. I searched online for the cheapest hotels that werent in the sketchiest neighborhoods. This hotel was OK. The bathroom was kind of dirty and the shower knob was broken so you couldnt tell if the water was supposed to be hot or cold. It wasnt terrible just a basic hotel room that was just meant to sleep in. It wasnt nice or anything but if you are looking for a cheap place to stay then its fine.

While it says it includes breakfast, I thought the choices were kind of sad. I thought that they had forgotten to set out breakfast and it took a closer inspection to realize that the few choices were the breakfast.

Oh and a lot of businesses are being closed in Tallahassee so it was kind of weird that the two neighboring buildings were deserted. ( Julies Places and Shoneys)

Room Tip: I have stayed in the suites before this trip and it was really cool because it comes more like a roo...

We were extremly tired after spending 3 weeks with our 4 grandsons, the oldest being 13 years old.... So, after dropping them off in Pensacola, we drove as far as we could that afternoon, and decided to stay in Tallahassee, (we have often stayed in hotels on this exit as it is convienient for the trip back to Miami...
The hotel building is BIG and OLD... Seems that they just threw some paint on it and are trying to recoup some money.. The location of the hotel is (or seems to be) 4- or so feet UNDER the height of the road leading in, and the place seems VERY quiet and spooky...
I tried to get a envelope from the front desk to mail a letter, and the lady said "no", she was "out" of them... (THEN she looked in the draw...) Just seems to be very uninterested in their job..
And maybe because I used a coupon, but although the hotel is VERY big, with a LOT of rooms, and the parking lot was empty; (and although I asked them if we could get a room where we could park the see the car, as we had a lot of luggage in it..) we were given a room where we had to park on a slope, and the room was a BLOCK (about 12 rooms) away from the car!!!
The only positive thing was that the room wasn't that expensive as we used a coupon..

We were traveling through tallahassee on our way to miami. We try to stay in la quinta when we travel. This hotel, however, was horrible. It was filthy. There was a random broken curtain rod on floor, toilet was broken, needed maintenance. Bathroom lightbulb was burned out as well. Never stay here again

We have overnighted at this motel 4 years in a row because the location is on our travel route and it is the only fee-less pet friendly location in Tallahassee except for another equally bad and less convenient La Quinta. It is old and not kept up. It is dark and dank. We have experienced standing water in a ground level room, bad plumbing and nasty bathrooms on all three levels, no toilet or facial tissue or soap last night, inadequate parking and lack of staff (including the front desk). This place is usually fairly crowded...with sad looking pet owners held captive by circumstances and clearly questioning whether there is any other possible stopover on the long drive south with the family pet. The otherwise reliable La Quinta chain should pay attention to the quality of franchisees. This is a disgrace!
