We visit Tallahassee frequently and always struggle trying to treat ourselves and our college age daughter to a nice dinner. My husband and I have eaten at Andrew's 228 twice previously and chose to take our daughter and two of her teammates there for dinner last night. Once again, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the girls were in heaven. I actually enjoy the "cave-like" atmosphere downstairs. We had the mussels for an appetizer and they were small but in a delicious white wine sauce. One of the girls had the small plate of basil gnocchi and loved them. There is also a complimentary bread basket for the table with a tapenade oil--very tasty. All three college students had the 8 oz. filet on the menu which is a nice treat when you normally live on mac and cheese! All three agreed their steaks were delicious. My husband had the grouper piccata and I had the salmon and both entrees were very good--we both cleaned our plates! We also (just the 2 adults!) enjoyed the $6 martinis--a real bargain. Our server was a youg college girl who was very pleasant and efficient and always had a smile on her face. We will return in the future when we want a nice meal in Tallahassee.
